Hi,

Is anyone subscribed to U Home Fibre? I saw the news that they are riding on Time's backbone, so is the quality of the service provided by them similar to Time Internet?

As this is the cheapest broadband package available in Malaysia for now, so I am thinking to subscribe it and would love to hear some honest feedbacks from owners here.

Better sticks to the normal ISP like Unifi or TIME.

But still up to you to decide... if you adventurous might as well give it a try... LOL

Are you using it already? How's the service so far?
Any downtime?

So far so good, it's using Time Infra, so there is no downtime yet. At the same time, during the installation day, the speedtest is D 100mbps and U 100mbps. But then on my second test it becomes D 100mbps and U 50mbps. I need to retest again, but so far since it didn't affect me much on the U 50mbps. So I am good

What router are they using? TIME is using an all-in-one router+ONU device. Do you get a separate ONU and router instead on U Mobile?

u mobile home fibre is cheap. no doubt. however, it has the following disadvatage that one may not be aware:

1) the rm79 price for 100Mbps plan is only valid for 24 months... after that will be back to normal price of rm99 which is the same as time fibre if compare to time fibre 100Mbps, their price is rm99 no discount but they have one month free for online signup so average price for 24 months is rm90 which is not too far away from u mobile promo price but more flexibilty.
2) the penalty for early termination = pay the full amount of the remaining months of the contract = as good as never terminate while time fibre is fixed at rm500.
3) u could not relocate ur plan during the contract period else u need to pay the penalty but time fibre allows to do with a fee.
4) u could not downgrade ur plan also or again u need to pay the penalty to do so while time fibre allows to do so just ur contract will be reset to 24 months again.
5) their 1Gbps plan is more ex than time fibre although both on the same infra (time) which u mobile is rm269 while time fibre is only rm199.

advantage
1) cheaper 100Mbps price at rm79 (but for 24 months only)
2) extra option of 300Mbps at rm119 which is not bad if one does not need 500Mbps speed but want more speed than 100Mbps, at least u have a choice while time fibre does not offer 300Mbps plan.

after comparison, i still find that time fibre is better at least for me (who are renting a unit which I may need to move house in future).

Agreed with @westlife

Plus TIME normally allow you to use its dynamic public IP for free, some others with minimal amount like Maxis, but uMobile will not give you a chance to use it all.
