Has anyone changed your phone numbers? I have been using my current phone number for a while and I plan to change for reasons.
Is it a huge hassle since I probably have to make a lot of calls like to banks to slowly update all of them. Share your experiences!

Changing whatsapp registered number is easy right? And I can actually keep all the chat history?

Thank you.

Must backup the WA chats first.
While at it, take the opportunity to do housekeeping to remove all those Good Mornings.

Its damn big hassle. I changed one and really many things you have to do.

For a start, banking details, like TAC and etc.

Next you have to change all the numbers in your online account, like those shopping (shopee, amazon), food delivery (foodpanda), insurance, job application websites, service site (like jpj, mysikap, tnb, water) and hell of a lot more.

Some you cant even change without receiving some PIN on your old number. So my suggestion is to keep your old number for at least a month of 2 to ease the process.

Damn, its really troublesome for ppl like me who did always everything online. Like a nightmare.

Last time I changed my phone number and backed up my WA chat, it only saved the group chats that I was in but all the chat history hilang because it was linked to my old number. Bopien lo I consider as starting new after that.

I'm not sure if there's any way to transfer the chat history from one phone number to another because I couldn't find a way but that was years ago maybe now there's a way.

Another thing that was troublesome and as you've mentioned is having to change all the things which are linked to my number especially my bank. I know you can change at ATM and all that but last time when I changed my phone number on the website I forgot the answers to my security questions because I made them a long time ago laugh.gif Paiseh have to go to bank to rectify that because I was locked out of my account. Other than that, have to manually change the phone number on all the websites je.

Also, have you considered getting a 2nd phone with a different phone number that is only for personal use i.e., family and close friends only?

Keep the existing number for 3 months during the transition and u will do just fine.

What I did was I get a new number but on the same phone. One SIM card and one eSIM. So everything was transferred slowly.

WA is the biggest problem. The rest still manageable but tedious.
