There's a lot of emulators for windows out there.
Can start with dreamcast emulator first cause they have good games and reasonable graphics.
Not sure if I can share the exact name but you can search google for dreamcast emulators starting with the letter R******. Then find dreamcast roms by google also.

Then can move to other platforms emulators also, Psx, Ps2, DS, etc.
Good luck!

Halo MCC got local coop deathmatch I think

Crash Team Racing Nitro have split screen racing I think

Very limited split screen multiplayer games unless you add a second PC

Window game popular platform, steam or Xbox game pass other like uplay aka Ubisoft, epic part of Microsoft, EA used to call origin, blizzard aka StarCraft or Diablo series all have their own dedicated .exe well is annoying have so many game launcher.

For children i will think game like ( it take two ) more suitable other than that will be too complicated or too violence i mean PC games don't have much choice for children.

Game that suitable for children probably Nintendo switch at least have more selection compared to pc

PC racing game a little hard for children i mean popular title like wrc series, forza series more like a serious and precision game your children will got bored because the difficulty is like literally i don't know what I'm playing for.

Some game can be remote play for 2 player if the game support for 2 player if the TV or TV connected to PC you can install stand alone steam remote to locally remote so you can play on a bigger screen with 2 controller connected to Bluetooth or etc reason.

Not sure is the question you need but i hope it's help.

Not sure what you prefer but these are games that are controller friendly on Steam that can be further filtered...

Last time I played using controllers, was Atari 2600 and Sega Mega Drive so I can't help much recommending games on PC. Using the standard keyboard and mouse standard for decades now.... lol.gif
Planning on getting an XBox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 this year for MudRunner. nod.gif
