I have been browsing listings for a specific place for renting through 3 websites (iProperty / PropertyGuru / Edgeprop).

So far, had to sift through alot of redundant, misleading or unrelated pictures of every unit. Found a few that kind of matches what I'd prefer, and... the damn agent doesn't even bother responding.
Even one listed but description mentions to contact someone else LOL.

I've left enquiry messages, whatsapped some, called some and yet none of them even bothered to respond.

Is this normal for them to just ignore potential sales? Any advice if I really want to view units?

Same here. They mostly respond with Hi and thats it. And 80% listings they have are either for different project or sold...but never bother to take down.

Try mudah.my?

Last time i try to rent a condo for a friend. Contacted 4 agents via mudah, 3 replied and bring me to viewing.

But the funny thing is, i remember there is a unit that 3 agents bring me to view but with different prices dry.gif

Fully furnish studio unit.

Agent A quoted RM1600
Agent B quoted RM1450
Agent C quoted RM1400

Getting a "Hi" is already one step further than me lol.
But yeah, a lot of listed units kept refreshing but it's already sold.

Thanks, I'll try to check mudah.my

Managed to get 1 agent to reply and got a viewing, only for the owner to U-turn and take another person's booking instead.. FML.

Funny thing is he told me few of the agents I whatsapp'd before him, forwarded my number to him as he covers this building instead of actually replying to me directly.

it seems the property ads are meant to collect database and ther admin would flood you with replies and promotions from their sales team members. they would recycle the database and share with other agents too

Yes, quite common issue when the landlord mentioned the rental is negotiable, then the rate of the rental is different between the few agents..

i had exactly the same experience as u...

they seem to advertise for other purpose.

i manage to rent a unit but not thru the agent that posted on propertyguru or iproperty, but during my visit to a showroom becos i got contacted by an agent for a new project, and at the showroom i met her colleague who has a unit for rent at the apartment i want.

is your WA profile pic available to public (as in no need to be registered in ur contact to see your pic)?
Some landlord prefer a certain race. It's possible when the agent see your face, don't want to say much as he/she knows that you won't get the place. So, no point in wasting their time.

Those agents who actually responded straight up asked me to fill in a detail form via Whatsapp which includes name, race, IC, work info, rent duration.
All these before even saying hello back lol.

Seriously swear the quality of property agents have gone rock bottom honestly.

This. Even when you wanna buy property also same case. You asked few agents for the ads you see online suddenly you get whatsapps from unknow numbers promoting other projects.

From my experience, they usually have a template and the agent will edit according to owner's request. For example, some have clauses that say what happens if tenants want to breach the tenure contract but mentions nothing about owner not able to honour the contract tenure.
