I personally see people who have repetitive "high salary" job, reached their 50s, they could not go any higher in their organization due to their repetitive job not highly valued and they been too long in their role that even external application no longer entertained by job recruiters.
Only then you should choose career growth job, because you are thinking far into the future.
the trick is not to get it wrong to think that job is a career growth job.
