Gosh, the prime 100mm is even sharper than the L lens. The 55-250mm seems to be the worst among the three lens.
Btw, how close were u when shooting with the prime? As 100mm will not give you sufficient reach.

Did you crop for this shot? It's so detail. Composition wise I'd have preferred more room on the left.
*
well its a prime lens after all sure sharp sharp smile.gif. haha the 55-250 not bad also but different class from the other two lens I use though.
almost touching the fence, the eagle also quite near the fence. it's crop on the left of the image, coz all my photos are resize to 1600x1200 resolution and the original image size is wider, guess I should have crop the right instead of left. I was using manual focus on this one, burst a few shots, while the eagle was turning its head, this is one of my fav smile.gif

Yeah, a little more room on the left will be better. Since the BG is blur, you ca actually add as much space as you like via post process smile.gif

will take note of that smile.gif, thanks for the comment

fuiyohh.. fall in in love with canon EOS400d d, TS are u able to share wht type of lens that u used and price...,i did not want  to think anymore , hehe just straight grab this camera...
*
two lens were use, the ef-s 17-85 IS USM and ef 100mm f/2.8 macro, though I have replace the 17-85 IS with Tamron 17-50 f/2.8
ef-s 17-85 IS got it together as a kitlens for my 400D, normal price is around 2k i think
ef 100mm f/2.8 macro used version 1.3k, if it's the new USM version used should be around 1.6k. New one around 2.2k
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 RM1.3-1.4k

QUOTE(TheVoIP @ Mar 4 2008, 10:19 AM)
you have pretty good compostion...

What you need is just a prime to blur the background like 50mm or 85mm... And you can see lots of improvement just like that...  biggrin.gif

Too bad my friend did not bring his legendary 50L for the indoor event... It might be able to capture some great shot where 85L is too loooong...  cool2.gif
*
yeah should have change to my 100mm for better blur, but i see the condition so pack inside the hall, I scare later no place for me to back up haha
