assuming your fren playing a feral druid, maybe a healer? if your rerolling with frens, always get a class setup thats capable of its own 5 man imo

by since you frens are new, they might change classes later idk. let them have a go at each class to get a feel of each class

Don't roll a class to fill a group need, you might regret it later.

Who knows, your friend might move on to another games, or need to concentrate on college exams. Just play the class you feel is FUN, and you like the concept of it.

as for a casual gamer who have a job, it is quite hard to fork out 6-7 hours daily for WoW. Although yes, it might be addicting but you might get too tired to go on on the 3rd or forth hour. You will need rest eventually.

anyhow, replying to the topic, imho, its true its the best thing to roll for a char that can fit into a group of friends that can stand alone for 5-man , i can imagine that would be extremely interesting. However, you cant doubt that you need to take into account your playing style. Most importantly you have to enjoy it. Its a game afterall isnt it? smile.gif

I'll be blunt about this assuming you're a student. Roll a awesome easymode character like hunter or warlock. You level and farm easily. This helps A LOT if you're a casual player. During your transition from SPM to college, or college to university, you will have a lot of 'downtime' where you need to study for exams/assignments and can't play as much.

Being a dps class you can afford to slack a little. Don't even think of playing a tank, it takes wayyy too much time when you hit 70 and start to gear up. The time, effort and tanking pressure will compel you to quit the game... and that really sucks after putting so much hard work in it.

So roll a hunter today. smile.gif

If you want to fill in group role and want to solo at the same time, i guess the hybrid classes will be suitable

I rolled my shaman without knowing i had to heal so much but i still manage to solo well by killing mobs my level without needing to stop. This is my experience when BC was released because 60-70 have no downtime for me except when i get gank or lag issues. I specced enha and easily got to Maghar exalted in just one night killing ogres near Telmaar cause i have no downtime even i was only about level 65 at that time in Nagrand

From 1-60 as a shaman, i cant give my opinions anymore since it will be different from the time i level. I used 1H+shield when solo to level but i guess new players will be using dual wield
