Seems like the boycott calls for companies that allegedly supported the Israeli government and their invasion on Gaza is still on going.
But let's put all of that aside (let's look at this from a neutral standpoint) and focus on 1 particular point.
How do we know whether the company REALLY did support the Israel via profit/donation and etc?

I mean, like McD has been the target of boycott, with the masses calling for boycott because McD Malaysia is allegedly supporting Israel.
So, this is people saying McD support Israel.
But McD Malaysia also did issue statement that they are 100% muslim owned entity, and did not support Israel.
So, how do we know which one is truth?

[Hype] 100% muslim owned entity McDonalds Malaysia denies support for Israel

In the link, also there is some interesting take.
Seems like, declaring no support for Israel, doesn't really mean much to Malaysians as well, since they say, McD didn't say they support Palestine, thus they are somewhat an eligible target for boycott?

Side question:
How do we categorize things?
is it:
A. Support Palestine v Neutral/Indifference v Support Israel
OR
B. Support Palestine v dan lain-lain (means support Israel)

Starbucks is another one entity that seems to be caught in crossfire.
Some party (in US) used Starbucks logo to profess support for Israel.
Then, naturally, Starbucks will deny that (because as a business, it's better to stay neutral).
And because of this denial, some pro-Israel movement, decided to boycott Starbucks (in US), because they did not show support for Israel.
on the other hand, Starbucks somehow is always linked to support for Israel (despite them saying no), and thus, pro-Palestine movement also decides to boycott Starbucks in US.

So, how do we actually know we are boycotting the right thing or not? what if suddenly someone said, XXX brand is supporting israel, we boycott. then we just buta buta boycott?

so there is really no logic here?
boycott ikut hati?

like, dun really care whether starbucks is supporting israel/hamas
if feel they support israel, then just boycott.

but this is not as simple as that right?
Kpop artists drink starbucks, also some netizens mata merah d.
shouldn't there be some clearer guidelines, so is easier for others to follow?

like Mercedes openly said they will donate to Israel.
Then if XXX buy Mercedes, we boycott them also?
or depends on people again?
If A buy mercedes, boycott!
if B buy mercedes, no choice la. people want buy what car, they like, we boycott the brand we want boycott, is enough d.

I understand that if it is not convenient, then ignore.

but what about others? as in, will there be no judgment for people that actually go to these boycott-ed places?

like let's say for A, he can boycott starbucks (too expensive, and he prefer kopi o from restaurants anyway), but he cannot boycott intel / facebook. So, he focus his boycott on starbucks alone.

but then for B, he just loves starbucks (let's say he is addicted to it, or like this case [msn] k pop idols sudden love for starbucks face backlash amid palestine israel boycott, he is paid to drink it), but somehow because he not a techy person, so he can survive without devices, and decides to boycott intel instead (throw his old laptop away).

then A see B buy starbucks, he mata merah, and scold B insensitive.
Then how?

Whichever company that's operating in Israel.
As they're directly paying tax to the zionist regime and in return the tax money is used to strengthen their military.
And that's how all the Palestinians got killed wasn't it? Because of their military might.
Google, Apple, FB, and whatever it is.
But hey. We boycott only what's with alternative.
Those without?? We krik krik krik.

The 'Religion Card' is the most elite of the elite cards in Malaysia by a particular puak.

You cannot question its merit, challenge it nor deny its existence.

It comes built with an 'Anti-Hypocrite' power bonus as well.

Don't question it.

I dont know man. You don't and can't reason with all these boycotters. They boycott whatever that benefits them. Including their own business. And use the Palestine issue as a reason to make more money. Like not using Milo and Nescafe in their shop. Using other cap ayam brand. But still charging the same price even though the cost to those ayam brands is way cheaper than what they're using previously.
But what i post earlier. It's not about branch or hq or anything.
They're contributing TAX directly to the zionist regime. And that tax money certainly do goes into strengthening the military that's use to oppress Palestine.

If you boil it down, it basically comes down to supremacist ideology i.e. 'my feelings and concerns more valid than yours, because I have backing of majority and constitution. you tak suka u keluar'.

But it's a long road to get any of them to admit this.

Let them be lah. Afterall it's their money and they decide who and who not to support. Who are we to question how and where they wanna spend their money??
They had their reason for it. Might not be logic or rationale to you or to me, but at the same time it makes them happy.
What irks me is they're pressuring and shaming others into following who or what they wanna boycott.
Just like those working for mcd. Kena kutuk and marah buta buta.
Or those that drink starbucks.
Even nons don't get away from it. They gonna said cina babi supporting yahudi.

so there is really no logic here?
boycott ikut hati?

like, dun really care whether starbucks is supporting israel/hamas
if feel they support israel, then just boycott.

but this is not as simple as that right?
Kpop artists drink starbucks, also some netizens mata merah d.
shouldn't there be some clearer guidelines, so is easier for others to follow?

like Mercedes openly said they will donate to Israel.
Then if XXX buy Mercedes, we boycott them also?
or depends on people again?
If A buy mercedes, boycott!
if B buy mercedes, no choice la. people want buy what car, they like, we boycott the brand we want boycott, is enough d.

exactly, so u have ur answer here.

they dont even ikut hati, just clouded by religious issue.

Yup, this I agree.
Those who wanna boycott, that's their money and I respect their decisions but what I cannot tahan is those holier than thou who peer pressure others who don't boycott. doh.gif

Boycott ikut perasaan

There's really no facts here, they can't check the company's money flow.

They just follow only based on socmed post and peer pressure. If asked for poof that McD or Starbucks supports Israel nobody can provide it. Just because some ustaz said so, must follow only, if not, later kena kecam because lawan pewaris nabi. They even said that overseas also boycotting so why can't we?

My wife until now dare not to step in Starbucks, being afraid if someone took her pics and post at socmed. And I will have to go buy for her haih...

Most ppl boikot due to peer pressure. They dont think their consequences or use phrases like "rezeki"
If the shop wholly run by certain pipu kolos down due to boikot and staff kena goreng is their own prob. Some even suggest other kompeni take over and re-hire those gorenf staff.

These people are selective

Even the name hot dog, root beer cannot accept.  Haram haram they say.  Not halal this.  Not halal that.

But when it comes to cigarettes.

Jangan tanya soalan susah. As long as can link boikot sahaja, kan senang? Isu lain seperti banjir dan kos sara hidup boleh diketepikan.
