I'm having this issue too after buying cheap antenna after previous more exp antenna disintegrated.

Guess some things really got diff between cheap n exp

Get longer antenna

You can buy active antenna (antenna with electronics that boost signal). Yes some HU has poor sensitivity even a know brand.

I also still listen to radio. Mine also quite poor reception in some locations but I still can live with it. Therefore I did not look for active antenna

install radio app on your phone, then connect your phone to the car radio.
thats what i do, since i completely removed my antenna

It's ok when there isn't any sudden large scale natural disaster or happening but IF there is and telco communication towers are down then you're fked. That's why there always be radio default installed in a mobile vehicle.

I don't know how many years I didn't listen to radio already.

Two types:
1) Antenna with built-in booster
2) Just booster (using existing antenna.

Connect to power at fuse is not difficult as need to take out HU to connect to HU antenna port

I think the easiest is just to go to accessory shop and let them install. I think it should take less than 30min.

Change headunit. I remember like 1st gen axia if you got the headunit without usb it is shit with radio signal but the model with headunit with usb got good radio signal.

radio signal booster all penipu scammer. ayam recently change android HU, signal become really really really bad. ayam tried many option listed as below,

1. buying 2 shark fin antenna and install stacked it together. - totally bullsh!t.
2. buying 2-in-1 cable by install additional antenna, using both car original antenna stacked with additional antenna. - not much different compare to using original antenna alone.
3. added a radio signal booster on top of option 2. - signal get a little little little bit improve.

tdlr, ayam using android HU auto connect to phone hotspot and open the radio apps better then the option tried.

Had very bad experienced changing head unit. After install only tell me its not compatible with my rear sensor, must buy from them. And then there's the poor radio signal... then need again charge again to change the antenna . And their settings failed to stick, back to factory settings after few hours. Took me 3 visit to settle everything.
