Hi guys, anyone have experience with local custom furniture shops? Looking for a sofa but the designs i like are way out of budget.

Please recommend any, if you have experience with them icon_question.gif

Design I have in mind is something like this (not exactly same):

May I know what is your budget, genuinely curious? This sofa is very much "designer" shaped and would not come cheap.

Something of similar size, shape and amount of padding from IKEA (big box mass production store) is somewhere around RM5k++ (Jättebo series of sofa). A local shop sells something similar at RM6.5k. It will be somewhat unrealistic to expect a cheaper custom if you're not able to afford that.

FYI, custom furniture actually tend to be higher priced than ready made, because they're not able to pass the cost savings of ready-made in-bulk to you, unless the "maker" is using workers that are severely underpaid, or using cheap materials that will not withstand the test of time and use.

You might have to shop instead from online-only "direct from factory" shops, like cuura.space

Thank you so much. Budget not even reaching Jättebo blush.gif , but thanks a lot for mentioning it really notworthy.gif , just realized that i can get the design i like using the customise feature on the website.

Might just settle for Söderhamn or Slatorp instead though sweat.gif

Glad the suggestion helps!

IKEA has some decent designer knockoffs or designer inspired furnishings, especially if you like Scandi/Mid-century style. Quality not bad also if you shop wisely.
