Maybe Shirou became a servant to get together with Saber. Since he's a magi, he should be able to summon Saber like how Caster summoned assassin. But assassin wasn't a real servant anyway. Hmmm...

I didn't play the game so I don't know how dark saber is like. To me, although Rin is more flirty and alluring, there's something about Saber's seriousness and innocence that is really attractive.

Plus she's HAWT! Shirou said it himself:- "an unimaginable beauty"
