hahaha

sometimes , most of the time I suspect it is an accelerated planned obsolescence

these conglomerates need constant desire for growth

even when markets are saturated, the capitalist system still demands growth

there is nothing wrong to use that 2018 samsung S9

feels just nice to hold it. nice amoled screen.

but if half of the original buyers still using em, how to make profit?

This is just a theory

From what ive heard

It has something to do with the thin bezel of modern phones design

The display cable have to to flex aka bend more than  90° actually closer to 180° and bcus of the thin bezel compounded by the thin body as well they are not enuf room causing great strees and hence the connection break over time due to thermal degradation and orher enviroment stress.

Dats why on older phone with thick bezel like my samseng note 3 no such green line prob even after 11years.

The problem typically boils down to faulty connection points that link a screen to a motherboard, said Mr Tan, whose team examined the faulty circuits under a microscope to understand the issue.

Modern phones today have more linkages than before to support bigger panels, higher refresh rates for a smoother scrolling screen, or even curved panels. The more connection points in a compact chassis, the higher the chance that one can be dislodged or torn over time, said Mr Tan.

Software updates can likewise result in screen glitches if they require the phone to tap previously unused linkage points that happen to be damaged, he said.

“Six or seven years ago, screens weren’t so complicated,” he added. “So we are seeing the results of those years of new screens today.”

My thoughts exactly
If ts claim it's just a ribbon cable problem then just replace ribbon cable, won't cost a bom if you know where to look

If it's the actual screen issue then it's cost a bomb to fix

for s20 lcd gonna cost you around rm630+ , parts only
