Stellantis NV, one of the world's largest carmakers, is contemplating a significant expansion in Malaysia by producing its first electric vehicle (EV) here by 2024 as well as introducing more brands, besides the flagship Peugeot and Citroën.

It is learnt that Stellantis - a merger between France's Peugeot SA and Italy-US group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV - had been doing testing of several models from brands such as Opel, Alfa Romeo and DS here since the past two years.

Edit :Updated April 2024:

Leapmotor of China has been announced as being part of Stellantis’ plans for introduction to this market later this year. Its positioning within the group’s brands for the country will be for the affordable EV segment, as one of three brands within Stellantis Malaysia’s plans for the near future

...And even for lovers of heritage, the Stellantis group will be rolling out its flagship Peugeot brand under its own management. Taking the cue from Toyota and Honda, it will have a factory presence in key Asean markets including the Gurun plant in Malaysia for Peugeot and its LandTrek pick-up truck. It has a factory in Indonesia making small Citroen cars.

For us romantics, Peugeot will not only introduce its combustion cars but also, eventually, its EVs including the e-208 and some electric vans. With Stellantis investing directly in Malaysia as the national sales company and as the brand owner, it will be more inclined than a franchisee would towards bringing the latest new cars to Malaysia.

More cheer too from market sources who say that Stellantis – which means a constellation of stars — will revive the Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Citroen brands in Malaysia.

If you’re planning to buy a new car this year or the next, it will be a good time to visit all the car shows and learn about what’s available. And for lovers of trusted marques, give a cheer to Stellantis for being the only one of the Big 3 US companies to invest in Malaysia as one of its hubs for the Asean region.

Stellantis Malaysia National Sales Company (aka Stellantis Malaysia) is now set to commence a one-stop call centre for Peugeot, DS, and Citroën vehicles in the country. This move is part of Stellantis' efforts to transition to having Stellantis Malaysia manage vehicle sales, distribution, and customer service. The goal is to provide seamless support to customers during this transition period.

Starting March 1, 2024, the call centre will provide centralised customer support for both sales and after-sales inquiries, along with handling any complaints.

Stellantis, home to brands such as Jeep and Chrysler, has become the latest global automaker to tie up with a Chinese startup as the electric vehicle (EV) race continues to heat up.

The Dutch group announced Thursday it would acquire a 20% stake in Leapmotor, a Hangzhou-based EV maker, for about €1.5 billion (nearly $1.6 billion).

The two will form a joint venture that will give Stellantis the exclusive rights to produce, export and sell the Chinese brand’s vehicles outside Greater China. The plan is to start by entering the European market.

Stellantis will control the joint venture, with a 51% stake, while Leapmotor will take a 49% share. The new business expects to start shipments in the second half of 2024.

The deal will allow Stellantis to leverage the startup’s “cost-efficient EV ecosystem” for its own fleet goals, which include a pledge to offer more than 75 fully electric models by 2030.

Chinese brands are catching more attention from established automakers because of their ability to produce EVs at rapid speed and lower cost, allowing them to charge consumers less.

...Previewed at the Malaysia Auto Show 2023, the all-electric e-2008 is set to launch in Malaysia this year. It will be the first Peugeot EV in the local market that will rival the likes of the Mazda MX-30 and Kia EV6. It will come equipped with a 50-kWh battery pack offering a range of 320 km on the WLTP cycle.

Further, the Stellantis Group is gearing up to establish Malaysia as its new hub for the Asia-Pacific region by 2025. The strategy involves exporting 280,000 vehicles from Malaysia to 20 countries across the region by 2028. Malaysia will also function as Stellantis' headquarters and regional distribution centre for parts in the Asia-Pacific.
But then again, it may push for non EVs because French minds are a bit hard to read.

Stellantis to debut Leapmotor EVs in Malaysia, Jeep & Citroen planned for CKD
By Arif Chan- Apr 3, 2024 11:54 pm

In a session with the media members today, Stellantis Malaysia revealed that it plans to introduce “affordable EVs” in the Malaysian market via Leapmotor, which it recently acquired 20% of. It is also planning to revive its iconic brands in the country, with some of them being Citroen, Jeep, and the already-announced Peugeot brand.

Interestingly, the slide shared by Stellantis also hints at local assembly (CKD) plans for Citroen, Leapmotor, Peugeot, and Jeep. Stellantis aims to tackle the “mass market” with the Citroen brand, the “affordable EV” segment with Leapmotor, the “upper mainstream” segment with Peugeot, and the “recreational lifestyle” segment with Jeep.

Leapmotor is a Chinese automobile manufacturer that was established in 2015. Stellantis became a strategic shareholder of Leapmotor in October 2023, with a 20% stake in the company. Under the Leapmotor brand are electric vehicles (EVs) like the C01 electric sedan, the C11 electric SUV, and the T03 mini electric car.

Besides the 4 main brands under the Steallntis umbrella that are being planned for revival in the Malaysian market, Stellantis is also studying the possibility of reviving its other brands in the country like Maserati, Alfa Romeo, DS Automobiles, Lancia, Dodge, Chrysler, Opel, Vauxhall, and Fiat. It is also considering introducing its Leasys car rental and Free2move car-sharing businesses.

Stellantis plans to move forward with its 4 strategic pillars to revive its brands in Malaysia. The 4 pillars are “customer centricity”, “financial strength”, “brand power”, and “people & learning”. One of the main focuses of Stellantis’s brand revival would be the improvement in aftersales service.

As for what models (and brands) Stellantis will be bringing into Malaysia, the company says there will be an interesting array of vehicles that you can view at the upcoming 2024 Malaysia Autoshow. One model that is confirmed for the Malaysian market is the Peugeot 408. Stellantis could also introduce one of the three models from Leapmotor in Malaysia this year.

During the media session today, Stellantis also shared that its Gurun plant currently has a production capacity of 60,000 units per year. 60% of the vehicles produced at the Gurun plant are for planned exports while the remaining 40% are  planned for the Malaysian market.

Chinese NEV startup Leapmotor said it plans to export its vehicles from the third quarter, with target sales of 6,000-10,000 units overseas this year.

Its vehicles will be available in Europe, South America, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and Africa.

The company reached an agreement with Italian automaker Stellantis in October to set up a joint venture that has exclusive rights for the export and sale, as well as manufacturing, of Leapmotor vehicles outside China.

Zhu Jiangming, founder and CEO of Leapmotor, said that the collaboration is progressing and it has established an international team in the past few months.

The company will adopt the same marketing approach in overseas markets as in China, with comprehensive service systems that include financial and insurance services. Although the initial setup of the sales network may take some time, Zhu said that once completed, it will grow quickly.

Moreover, given the collaborative background with Stellantis, Leapmotor can "rapidly acquire more and higher-quality channel resources, including distribution systems for components, service networks and the market", Zhu said. "We will be steps ahead, improving efficiency and costs in various aspects," he added.

Leapmotor plans to set up more than 200 sales outlets overseas this year.

The first export model will be the C10 SUV, which officially launched in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Saturday.

The model has seven pure electric and range-extended versions at starting prices from 128,800 yuan ($17,890). The model has secured more than 45,000 orders since presales in mid-January.

As Leapmotor's first global model built upon the Leap 3.0 technical architecture, the C10 features the Qualcomm 8295 chip, among other things.

It integrates the cockpit and driving functions of an audio digital signal processor, parking assistance and a 360-degree surround view, a first in the industry. The model also incorporates components such as laser radar and the Nvidia Orin-X chip.

The company also launched upgraded versions of its C11 SUV, C01 sedan and T03 small EV on Saturday.

Although covered in stickers, we can see that the design is similar to the Leap C10 which was the brand’s first global car. It has hidden door handles and it seems smaller than the C10 with the design pushing the wheels as far as possible to the corners to maximize internal space. Fast Technology estimate the length to be between 4.5 and 4.6 meters.

Alfa Romeo in hot water over “illegal” Milano model name – report
A law banning "Italian-sounding" names on foreign products has Alfa Romeo in a difficult position, after it revealed its new Polish-built Milano SUV last week.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a60480795...-italian-drama/

[QUOTE]Named after Italy's moral capital and Alfa Romeo's origin city, Milan, the subcompact crossover shares its platform with the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600e. Sharing platforms with fellow Stellantis models is cost-saving, no doubt, but it means the Milano will be manufactured in Tychy, Poland. With an ever-strong national heritage, Italy's industry minister, Adolfo Urso, believes this move by Stellantis is unacceptable.[

"A car called Milano cannot be produced in Poland. This is forbidden by Italian law," Urso said in Turin on Thursday. "This law stipulates that you cannot give indications that mislead consumers. So a car called Milano must be produced in Italy. Otherwise, it gives a misleading indication which is not allowed under Italian law."

The law that Urso is referencing dates back to 2003, stating that it is illegal to market Italian-sounding products produced elsewhere as Italian in the name of consumer safety.

Stellantis-Leapmotor JV to challenge value brands in Europe
Dacia could be a key rival to the joint venture, which will start sales of the Leapmotor T03 minicar and C10 SUV this year.
PETER SIGAL

The Leapmotor T03 full-electric minicar will reportedly be assembled in Poland starting this year.

Stellantis plans to challenge budget brands such as Dacia with “value-for-money” cars from its new joint venture with the Chinese automaker Leapmotor, analysts said after an investors’ meeting at the Beijing auto show.

Stellantis invested €1.5 billion ($1.6 billion) last October for a 21 percent share in Leapmotor, and the two companies set up a joint venture called Leapmotor International, in which Stellantis holds a 51 percent share. It gives Stellantis exclusive rights to build, export and sell Leapmotor products outside China, a first for a legacy Western automaker

The JV plans to build and sell cars in Europe, reportedly starting with the T03 full-electric minicar to be made from kits in Poland this year. Other markets include the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The Leapmotor C10 SUV is set for European sales this year, and is undergoing EU homologation.

The partnership offers Stellantis a way to compete in China’s auto market, the world’s largest, after a rocky few years that saw brands such as Peugeot and Citroen lose most of their market share there, as well as the end of Jeep production there in 2022. During the mid-2010s, PSA Group, now part of Stellantis, sold more than 700,000 cars annually in China.

At the same time, Stellantis can benefit from Leapmotor’s lower-cost production and technology, executives said. "The Chinese offensive is visible everywhere," Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said last October in announcing the joint venture. "With this deal we can benefit from it rather than being the victims of it."

Stellantis CFO Natalie Knight referred to Leapmotor as the group’s “15th brand.” In Europe, Leapmotor could be slotted in below Citroen and Fiat in the group's cluster of volume brands. Citroen, Fiat and Opel/Vauxhall will all launch vehicles on the low-cost Smart Car platform this year.

Knight said on Tuesday that the first sales and revenue from the joint venture would appear in the second half of the year, but she said the impact on Stellantis' balance sheet "won't be huge" at first.

Initially, Leapmotor’s main products for Europe will be the T03 and the C10, a 4750 mm-long SUV that will reportedly be available in EV and hybrid versions.

New details on the partnership that emerged from the investors’ meeting include information about sales channels, distribution, product positioning and production, according to a note from Jefferies.

Among the details, according to Jefferies:

Future models: The C10 and T03 are expected to complete EU certification in by this summer. Two other minicars are being developed and scheduled for launches after 2024. Longer term, Leapmotor will cover different segments with SUVs and crossovers, and all models will be available with right-hand-drive versions, Jefferies said.
Sales: Leapmotor International will start to sell cars under the Leapmotor brand in the second half of this year through Stellantis’ existing sales channels, with dedicated space in Stellantis outlets.
Positioning: Leapmotor cars will not compete against existing Stellantis products but instead will compete against global brands with the same positioning as Leapmotor in China, which is “value for money” with affordable technology, Jefferies said. That matches the position Dacia occupies in Europe. The T03, for example, starts at about €26,000 euros in France.
Profits: The JV is expected to reach breakeven this year because it only has 20 employees, initial imports will come from China, and it will use existing Stellantis resources. The JV could reach 500,000 sales a year by 2030.
Production: Stellantis did not address reports of production in Poland, but said that the EU is supportive of Chinese automakers building factories in Europe.

The Leapmotor C01 at the Beijing auto show. The midsize sedan has just gone into production in China.

Outside of the joint venture news, Leapmotor plans to deliver 250,000 to 300,000 cars this year, Jefferies said, with monthly deliveries ramping up to 30,000 by the fourth quarter. Sales in 2023 were 144,000.

Leapmotor’s lineup also includes the C11 midsize SUV, which has 650 km (403 miles) range in full-electric verions, and is also available in China as a plug-in hybrid model. In addition to the T03 and future minicars, other models include the forthcoming low-cost C16 midsize SUV and long-range C01 midsize sedan, both of which were shown at the Beijing show.

The Jefferies report said that Leapmotor had narrowed its losses to 915 million renminbi ($126 million), in the fourth quarter of the 2023 fiscal year. Operating cash flow was 1.1 billion renminbi, while free cash flow is “expecting soon” to turn positive, Jefferies said.

The Leapmotor C11 SUV, seen at the Beijing auto show, is a higher-end model with an EV range of about 400 miles.

Stellantis eyes major expansion in Malaysia
By Diyana Isamudin - July 25, 2024 @ 8:01am

QUOTE
KUALA LUMPUR: Stellantis is poised to double its dealers in Malaysia to 30 by the end of this year after achieving a significant milestones just over 100 days of operation since last March.

With a total of 14 dealers it currently has in Peninsular Malaysia, the French-Italian-American carmaker plans to expand to Sabah and Sarawak. It will start with Sabah in the current quarter.

Stellantis Malaysia managing director Jamie Morais said dealers are given some level flexibility this year to make the needed renovations and upgrade works.

Next year will see changes as all dealerships will be standardised and carry the same brand corporate image, reflecting the company's core values of customer centricity.

"We believe this will strengthen the brands local presence as well as give customers the confidence that Stellantis and Peugeot are here to stay," Morais told Business Times.

Since the formation of its national sales company (NSC) in March, it has taken over managing the sales, aftersales and brand marketing of Peugeot from the previous distributor.

"We are  proud to share that the aftersales team has successfully worked on reducing 7,000 open part line items to 499 which is a 93 per cent decrease. We also took ownership of over 2,500 open cases and successfully reduced it 95 per cent to 117 cases," Morais said.

He added that the call centre team continues growing and expanding to cater to the customers and offer efficient service.

According to him, it now has 13 personnels from five previously which improved the unanswered call rates from 53 per cent to 2.0 per cent.

On sales, Morais said Stellantis Malaysia had seen an increase of more than 100 per cent month-on-month (MoM).

This was led by the all-new locally assembled (CKD) Peugeot 408, which was launched in April this year, apart from other Peugeot models that are available.

"We want to continue capitalising on the momentum by ensuring we have a healthy order bank and stocks to meet customer demands as we believe the current Peugeot models cater to the current market trends of crossovers and SUVs," he added.

"Due to high traffic and interest at the Malaysian Autoshow, we want to continue the momentum and ensure we have attractive sales activations to continuously engage with our customers," he said.

Leveraging Stellantis renowned brand name as the world's fourth largest automaker with 14 marques under its portfolio, Morais said it is an exciting time for Malaysia as one of the company's objectives is to revive iconic brands under it.

"First, we have Leapmotor, which is set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year. This will be our first brand to sell only electric vehicles (EV) for the Malaysian market.

"We will bring in Leapmotor C10, which uniquely sits in its own segment and is Leapmotor's first global model," he said.

Leapmotor C10 is a D-segment SUV, an affordable EV car that has a battery range of up to 420km (WLTP).

Additionally, Stellantis plans to reintroduce French car Citroën to make continental cars accessible to the Malaysian consumers, which currently unavailable in the market, he said.

As inflation and declining currency are expected to increase prices, Morais assured that customers are prioritised and hence, the company continues to ensure the offerings remain competitive in the Malaysian market.

Looking forward, he said Stellantis Malaysia will open a regional parts hub soon that is expected to improve and streamline the parts distribution in Malaysia and the region.

Monika From Gasgoo| August 02 , 2024
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In July 2024, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor set a new monthly delivery record with 22,093 vehicles sold, marking a 54.1% year-on-year surge.

As of early July, Leapmotor has cumulatively delivered over 400,000 vehicles.

On July 30, Leapmotor International shipped its first batch of Leapmotor C10 and T03 electric vehicles from Shanghai Port to Europe. This milestone highlights the significant collaboration between Stellantis Group and Leapmotor, demonstrating their shared commitment to swiftly providing sustainable mobility solutions and innovative products to the European electric vehicle market. Starting from the fourth quarter of 2024, Leapmotor International will also launch the C10 and T03 models in the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America markets.

On June 28, the company's intelligent six-seater SUV model, the Leapmotor C16, hit the market with a guidance price ranging from 155,800 yuan to 185,800 yuan. As the flagship model riding on the LEAP 3.0 technology architecture, the C16 has recorded over 10000 units in fixed orders since its market launch. Most of the US brands under Stellantis only have a few models on sale. They should sell them off. Only Jeep should be retained.
Vauxhall and Opel sell the same cars with different names, should be merged as they do sell well in Europe.
They should ditch DS and make Citroen a premium brand like Peugeot instead of making it a cheaper brand.
Is Lancia still making any cars? Should sell off the brand and focus on Alfa and Maserati.
Abarth should be ditched as well and just go back to being a tuned version of Fiats.

Yes. It is huge too. Think Proton X90 but with better performance, handling and rear legroom. But the LEAP is a 5 seater compared to the X90's 7.

RHD Leapmotor C10 previewed in Malaysia - Meet the interesting SUV EV with up to 420km range, 218PS and 350Nm

KUALA LUMPUR:  With the flood of Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) entering the market, it's getting increasingly difficult to identify something that truly stands out. Many Chinese EVs are well-built, but sometimes they all feel similar—battery, motors, software, and a body all coming together to form yet another electric vehicle. So when Stellantis Malaysia announced earlier this year that they would be introducing the Leapmotor brand, our initial reaction was: "Just another EV?"

KEY TAKEAWAYS
* When will the Leapmotor C10 be launched in Malaysia? Q4, 2024
* How big is it? They call it C-Segment Plus, borderline D-Segment
* What are the key specs? 69.9 kWh battery, up to 420km of range NEDC, 218PS/350Nm
*How much will it cost? There's no indication of price, but they have hinted that it'll be priced around a certain popular Chinese SUV EV with blade battery

However, our close-up experience with the Leapmotor C10 today has certainly made us reconsider. Leapmotor, a Chinese EV automaker with impressive sales growth of 400,000 units as of July 2024, has quickly positioned itself as one of China’s top three EV startups. With its first foray into the Malaysia market, the Leapmotor C10 aims to shake things up in the C-segment SUV EV space.

What Makes the Leapmotor C10 Stand Out?

Built From the Ground Up
Unlike many traditional automakers who still rely on legacy components, Leapmotor has forged its own path. The C10 is built on the Leap 3.0 modular platform, featuring an advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack developed in-house. This battery is integrated into a unique Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) architecture, offering greater safety, efficiency, and driving refinement—making the C10 an intriguing prospect from the start.

Thermal Management and Performance
Leapmotor has taken steps to enhance thermal efficiency in the C10, something many EVs struggle with. First, the rear-mounted electric motor is oil-cooled, a feature touted as the next leap in EV technology. With 228 hp and 320 Nm of torque, the C10 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, making it nimble for its size. Secondly, a traditional liquid-cooling system is in place to manage the 69.9 kWh battery, enabling the C10 to achieve a claimed range of 420 km. The charging specs, while not fully revealed yet, promise DC fast charging from 30-80% in 30 minutes and AC charging in 5-6 hours.

Ride and Handling with Maserati’s Touch
Although we only got a brief chance to drive the C10 around a small preview compound, its ride felt balanced—thanks in part to Maserati’s involvement in its suspension tuning. Many Chinese EVs are either too soft or harsh, but the C10 seemed to strike a nice middle ground, at least in this initial setting.

Design – Sophisticated Yet Sporty
The Leapmotor C10 is a handsome SUV, especially in the eye-catching green shown at the preview. The design, with its sporty grey wheels, gives off a confident vibe. If the front end feels familiar, that's because it looks resembles of that the smart#1. Meanwhile, the rear seems to borrow inspiration from the Porsche Cayenne, particularly the taillights. Overall, the C10 offers a blend of sportiness and sophistication, avoiding the "cute bubble" aesthetic common in some EVs. Size wise, the C10 is not a small vehicle, think BMW iX presence.

Interior – Comfort Meets Tech
Step inside, and you'll be welcomed by a minimalist, clean interior with an unexpected touch of luxury. The seats, wrapped in OEKO-Tex Standard 100, a Austrian-originated material, are remarkably soft—like sitting on the comfiest leather sofa. The C10's spaciousness, thanks to its C-segment Plus sizing (borderline D-segment), adds to the overall comfort, making it ideal for both young professionals and families.

The infotainment system feels intuitive and snappy, which isn’t surprising given Leapmotor founder Zhu Jiangming’s background in IT and AI. While everything is controlled via the system—potentially a downside for those who prefer physical buttons—it does offer voice recognition, and in our brief test, it responded well to commands like opening the boot and sunshade.

For those curious about the infotainment and instrument display, the Leapmotor C10 will come equipped with a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen featuring sat nav, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and  alongside sits a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The C10 also includes a dual-zone automatic climate control system as standard. While the preview model lacked Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Leapmotor representatives assured us that these features will be added post-launch.

Interior kit wise, the Leapmotor C10 also comes loaded with a range of premium features as standard. These include a fixed panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, a 12-speaker surround sound system, ventilated front seats, wireless charging for your smartphone, and ambient lighting to enhance the cabin atmosphere. Instead of a traditional key, the vehicle is equipped with an NFC card key.

In terms of safety and driver assistance features, the Leapmotor C10 includes seven airbags and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with 16 key functions.

Final Thoughts

The Leapmotor C10 is shaping up to be an interesting addition to Malaysia’s growing EV market. With its advanced technology, thoughtful design, and good performance specs, it offers a premium feel that should appeal to a wide range of buyers. Of course, the final piece of the puzzle will be the price—if it can come in under RM150k as expected, it could have a real chance of standing out in this crowded space. We’ll know more once it officially launches, but for now, consider us intrigued.

Leapmotor aims to conquer the world using a similar strategy to BYD

Leapmotor founder and CEO Zhu Jiangming has recently been busy outlining the company’s future strategy and answering the public’s questions. Not only has he given more details about new cars for Europe, but he has also addressed how Leapmotor can produce cars so cheaply.

As part of Leapmotor’s globalization strategy, the company will launch the A series of cars. These will be positioned as A-class, A0-class, and even smaller models, which account for 60-70% of sales in Europe. Furthermore, Leapmotor International will launch at least one new model every year.

Leapmotor unveiled a new world model, the B10, at last month’s Paris Motor Show. Currently, the Stellantis-backed company has two models on sale in Europe: the C10 SUV and the T03 small hatchback. The models are available in 13 European countries, including France, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Currently, Leapmotor has 200 outlets in Europe, covering displays, sales, and after-sales services. The aim is to increase this to 500 outlets across Europe by the end of 2025.

Maserati, a subsidiary of Stellantis Group, and Leapmotor’s chassis R&D team will jointly tune Leapmotor products. They have successively conducted multiple rounds of verifications at the Balocco test site in Italy and the Yancheng test site of the China Automotive Center in China.

According to Zhu Jiangming, the main reason Leapmotor models can be so affordable is that they conduct their own research and technological innovation. This extends to the independent R&D and manufacturing of parts. Thereby, the company passes less money on to suppliers and can reduce costs through program optimizations. Ultimately, this means better prices for consumers. It should be noted that this is a very similar strategy to BYD, which is probably the most vertically integrated company in the industry.

“Whether it is a high-end or low-end model, the gross profit is the same, aiming to allow users to buy a better equipped and better quality product at a reasonable price,” said Zhu.

Leapmotor aims to become a major global player in the EV market. Last year, Stellantis bought a 20% stake in the Zhejiang-based company. Since then, Stellantis has set up Leapmotor International, in which it has the controlling 51% stake. Earlier this year, Leapmotor started producing cars at a Stellantis plant in Poland.

CEO resigns.

How now, will the initiatives using Chinese EV tech or the assembly plant in Malaysia be in jeopardy?
