bought used v1 dominar 400 mid april and change tyre a week later. not sure how good is pilot street 2, but hey, its rm60 ( quoted rm560 - shop credit rm500) and do oil change + chain and spocket + service absorber ( shop did it, but leak again) at other workshop that familiar with modenas. Change side mirror to oem. haha

unlike car, not all workshop except other than kapchai.

just don't emergency brake on a motorcycle you're not familiar with, if needed, practise e-braking somewhere safe
always launch the bike with the steering straight, especially when trying to do a U-turn, idea is to initiate movement before a turn
*
did few e-brake, just to get the feeling. thanks for the advise.

For a good shop to maintain your V1, go look up the modenas tread and visit arrow motoworkz if you are in KV.

Not many good things to say about the pilot sports 2. Just make sure the shop actually mounted the front correctly. I've seen bikes with pilot sports mounted in the wrong rotation direction.

Usually for cheaper tyres, I prefer to go with a budget brand's premium tyre than a premium brand's budget tyre. One tries to make a better tyre to justify a higher price, the other cut costs to make a cheaper tyre. I rather take the former.
*
puchong not far off, will go if they can mod gear indicator.

pilot street 2, not much of review, but as beginner I guess its good starting point, shop recommend rosso, but I guess that too much for my riding experience.

Actually gear indicator (or the lack off) isn't a big issue. You get used to it. The first few gears are very short. Can set off in 1st or 2nd no problem.

But can be mod. Have to get the KTM gear position sensor. But have to open up your stator cover to get it done. Just get the parts and they should be able to do it.
*
I guess so will get used to it over time. just not sure if gear habis or not, should be no issue songket again once at top gear?

so my bike (er6n) wont start yesterday, after changing new starter relay. lifespan only halfday or 3 time use then kaput.

-dump start, i dont know how to shift to 2nd gear, always N after the 1st gear. so tried on 1st, unable to start. (i may doing it wrong as the tyre lock after dump clutch + throttle abit)

-short B/M at starter relay, but engine still wont start. ended up replace to old stater relay, then can start.

does this mean shorting the terminal on the starter relay, is not 100% make your engine start? still depend on starter relay condition?

can describe what happen when you press the start button?
- is it like press, then relay click, but no respond (starter motor kong)
- press, but very fast clicking sound and dash dim (battery weak)
- press, starter will spin the motor, but engine won't start (other issue)

maybe need to service the internal of the starter motor, contact point and carbon brush there
*
most likely no1 . 2,all light remain constant, no dimming/or flickering. 3,didnt hear starter crank. but when i short the terminal around 5 sec + throttle bit (starter relay) it crank but wont start.

however i suspect stator/battery. Happen twice and after both happend after ride. (20-30min ride). Notice that voltage during idle or low rpm ride not exceeding 13v. Lowest was 11 idle at traffic light. will rectifier cause this or just stator?

how old is the battery?

in my experience, to my knowledge, weak battery will kill the rectifier, then kill the stator
but, the rectifier will not be full dead... so, after you change the stator and battery, it will work for 6 months to 1.5 years then keep burning the stator

in your case, probably check the stator, if burn, recoil and test and check
also, make sure engine oil level is near the high mark... because our bike uses EO to cool the stator
also, find the location of the rectifier, make sure after a ride it's not very hot like 80C hot, 60C hot is ok... not sure how to explain to you
*
battery is 1 year old this coming 26/8. yup sent to wkshop while i'm out of town during weekdays. hope it is sorted out by friday.

noted on EO level. thanks.

removed windshield and notice that, at 150+, steering feel lighter. Without windshield, had to use full face all the time.

I wonder how those ride with open face at high speed, on moped.

Moped wont go 150+ though.....

This is also why I discourage anyone from putting a huge windshield on a non fully faired bike (because the windshield is connected to the front forks) It affects steering and can be dangerous with crosswind. Bigger touring bikes tend to have a separate body subframe for the windshield/front end and thus doe not affect the steering.
*
Those suzuki raider, modded lc etc. haha

yea, crosswind do affect very much on steering. Now dismantle the windshield and simpan. Building neck strength to fight the wind flex.gif

ER6 got windshield? is it like a small piece or a big piece? attached to headlamp or handlebar one?
moped go 150+ with open face have to tunduk, or angle the helmet downwards to let the visor do the work
*
Mine does not, even later version does nt have it either. It was added by previous owner, and attached to handlebar.

tunduk/angle downwards, mata almost juling alam sebalik mata. haha rolleyes.gif

front brake locked/jammed with stiffed lever, bleed air on right side caliper. Syukur solve the issue and continue ride.

Next morning send in for check. Master pump kaput, replace with rcb. "tambah skit" replace old hose with braided and route 2 loop, each for respective caliper.

what bike again and how is it?

ive always wondered about this kapchai centric brake master cylinders and hoses on big bikes....wat brand hoses?
*
2010 er6n

Need to adjust %squeezing the lever. Learning trail braking again. Compare with the stock one, two finger is enough for progressive and emergency.

Hose brand Kobura

if that's the 17mm it should work for OEM double calipers
*
Yup, there is 14mm and 17mm, shop recommend the 17mm. brembo pun ada, but didnt opt that since this is all rounder daily. most week will be parking for days at public area.

because wallet ringan?
brake feel wise, does the new MC feel more solid?
*
stopie = rear tyre in the air

this mod still wallet friendly flex.gif

MC?

Brake feel after change the masterpump, less effort to lock the front. Previously I use 2 then 3 finger for emergency brake. Now 2 finger can brake hard and definitely feel nicer.
