Hi guys….
My girlfriend just told me that she plan to get a new phone and another new phone number.
I asked, why does she need a new number? Her reply is, she doesn’t want her old phone to be left unused.
She is just a normal nurse working in a private hospital. She doesn’t have any own business to take care of. She also doesn’t travel aboard frequently. I argued with her so much and she still telling me that owning a 2nd phone number is normal. But, to me, it’s totally not normal. (When I said “not normal”, I strongly believed that many of you out there will have lots of opinions to voice out)
Here, I hope I can get some helpful & constructive opinions and advices from you all. Thank you.

I got 3 numbers on 3 phones. So, it is normal.

1 number for work.
1 number for personal or socmed.
1 number for bank or financial apps. This phone no socmed or chat apps. All incoming calls blocked except for bank support numbers. Outgoing also blocked (permissions denied on Android).

Dude. I have 2 numbers. One for banking only and another for other purpose. You need to trust her. If not you will always worry.

It's absolutely normal. The current generation generally have 2 phones- 1 for personal use, another one for socmed.
Since you mentioned she is a nurse, maybe she is the kind hearted ones who share her number with her patients/patient's family members in case of medical advice.

Just chipping in, my gf has 4 phones, her purpose is to take advantage of multiple accounts to accumulate all those deals and points for discount and freebies, whenever she buys something, it is almost free because of all the points she accumulated by hunting down the deals and games in the online shopping apps. This behavior of hers saved everyone a lot of money when buying things we need, and I appreciate that. It's her hobby too so she is enjoying doing it, sometimes she even prioritize doing it when I am right beside her, need to wait her finish before we can have our spicy time.

There was a time when I was obsessed with getting numbers with good rhythms that I kept registering new numbers months after months. Even my wife was like why do you keep getting new numbers... eventually let go some of the older numbers. At one point I had 6 or 7 numbers... 2 phones with 4 sims, another 2 used in tablet and elder son phone. Even had 1 extra to lend to mom to let her try other network. My clients also pening see new numbers every month calling them.

Nowadays using two number is very normal. At least she got telling you that she want to have another number rather than she own another number without let you know. And you can have her two numbers too, don't argue for a phone number bro.
