There are lots of these on Shoppee and Lazada selling for under RM250. Per YouTube reviews it seems to function well enough for budget gaming, etc. My only concern is durability, will it last another 3 to 5 years? Most reviews are positive, but I have come across a few people reporting that the card is artifacting or just dying after a few months of use.
Anyone using this card can share their experience?

1. this is consider Mining Era Card.
2. Mining Era used Card, durability depend it has mining operation b4 or not...
3. GPU can last 6~7, casual usage. no problem.
4. if problem, maybe fan would gone 1st, but if you can replace DIY, not a problem also...
5. if you can find GTX980 at RM300, is better. Because GTX980 is lapsap on mining, compare 580, but GTX980 ran fastterr in game

These are defo miner refurb/remanufactured, longevity 1-2 years might be okay but to expect 5 years maybe not.
Note that they are deprioritizing driver support, Polaris will remain supported with critical driver updates (usually security updates), and any further improvements are likely to be negligible due to the maturity of the driver/architecture itself.
Quoting from the article:

But regardless of what AMD is calling their driver support policy for Polaris and Vega, the end result is that major driver development for these GPU architectures has effectively come to an end, and these parts have now entered an extended support phase. AMD considers the drivers for the hardware mature, and with games increasingly taking advantage of features not supported by the hardware (e.g. Alan Wake II and mesh shaders), there’s clearly less of a need to add support/optimizations for new games to drivers for old hardware.

Well that's true to an extent, but I also think that a good majority of those cards are likely to be sourced from internet cafes where the operators are upgrading their machines en masse

Deprioritising actually means ur not getting drivers to support latest games per se but for any security patches (that may also update support for later games). Its like Windows going into long term support. Dont expect to have optimum game experience with latest titles.
Fact is these RX family are mining friendly so whether its from close frens, used sellers, or pulled from internet cafes, chances are these had been mined.

But at 250 it's worth a buy & try right. 250 is very low priced already
I did a some more research and now feel that RM250 is too expensive considering that these are 6 year old well used cards with no real warranty if any. Also AMD recently announced that there are ending future driver support so maybe at most can get 1 to 2 more years of use assuming that the card doesn't decide to die. At RM250 I feel that it is better top up a bit more to get a newer card like the rx6600.
It seems lowyat forum in general is opposing this idea. TS even seem to price them at rm150 only. But my research from general internet are in favour, at least as of 2025 Nov. I end up buy anyway, at rm400. Posting my experience here for references.
Consideration factors: Mobo is Asus p5q built in 2009, last format 2014 Nov Win7 Old mobo/firmware. Bios only non uefi. NO ERP/CRM settings. PCIE 2.0 x16. Power supply cooler master v550. One 12v rail, dedicate 330 watts, two 6+2pins connectors. Monitor port DVI/HDMI. After some preliminary considerations e.g. budget, availability and internet/yt references as of 2025 Nov ASUS DUAL-GTX1650-O4GD6-P-EVO new. Lowyat SriComputers rm709 NoBrand GTX 1050 Ti 4G-V new. Lowyat StarTec rm599 Radeon RX580 used. Online purchase only. rm350-450 depending on variants Winner: Used Sapphire Pulse rx590 (polaris 30) from Shopi rm400
Experience: Waiting time from pay/order to package arrival 12 days. Shopi delivery sucks. Seller sent Sapphire Nitro+ version (superior) instead of Pulse due to no stock. Take note Nitro+ is much bigger and has two fans (need 8+6pin) vs pulse/standard single fan (single 6pin). Check Sapphire's website. Plug in the rx590, cant detect. Asus mobo GC error 1 long 3 short beeps. Hailat Contact seller and thankfully they offer great after sales services. Goto seller's workshop at weekend to further test. Plug in a different mobo. It works. Reseat to my mobo and check BIOS etc. Still NG. Plug a different GC but one grade lower rx580 to my mobo, still same error. Hailat x2 Already check sample build at userbenchmark.com. There are many Asus P5Q SE + RX580 so this feels weird. At some point, between swapping cheap/old but working GC and various checking got this strange behaviour: Got the usual GC error beep THEN follow by a POST single short OK beep. But still no display. Still testing the same rx580, plug two monitors together dp + hdmi. Suddenly boot ok. And both monitors got display. Further test. Plug dp monitor only, result ok. Plug hdmi monitor only, result NG. Plug the rx580 with different mobo + hdmi only, result ok. So, it is not the port issue. Wtf. This has now become a unique wierd sh!t already. The rx580 also has a dvi port but didnt manage to test that.
Resolutions: Exchange the rx590 with rx580. Bought a new dp monitor right there i.e. Aiwa 27" 180Hz rm499. At home, plug the new dp monitor and my old monitor dvi together. Both got display. Now I use dual screens. But the dvi monitor flicker occasionally, about once every 2mins to 10mins? Still ok. Going to get more HDMI/DP cables to test further. Has been using GC for 20 days now. Still ok. Will try update again when kaput or changing GC's fans
