Hello gais, just wanted to ask if I want to renovate the whole house after VP, is there still a need for defect checking? As it will take time and I want to renovate first and then move in.
Property newbie here so please give me your opinion. Thanks! biggrin.gif

it depends right..
lets say if you plan to replace all the tiles, there no point to check for tile defects..
you still want todo the defects check on others that is non related to your renovation and also do take note developer might blame you if you do it after renovation.
and if you only do the defect check after renovation, they might need to undo your renovation to fix some of the defects etc..

Do defect first. Once renovated, developer will blame on your renovation and warranty void.
Similar like car modification or repair outside of original factory will void the warranty. Even you replace with simple absorber/brake pad outside, the factory might void the warranty related to your suspension, etc.
So don't take the risk.

Defect must check
- all tiles
- water ponding test for all bathroom for water leaking
- all electrical points
