KL area has many options and very competitive price as compare to unifi.
If Time or Yes Fiber is available in my area, i would have applied for it.
*
TIME is a decent but I wouldn't say the same about Yes / YTL Fibre

Family of mine staying at YTL properties suffered a miserable life for years until Unifi got in eventually

About stability, i dunno how stable for other ISP on my area, before covid my flat only got unifi, just recently 2 or 3 years got TIME and MAXIS

And with unifi if no maintainence, up time can over 100 days, still stable 300mbps

If your area comes with Maxis own infra or they call it NGBB, it's worth to try as the price is very good

Rates are not published publicly and only available through their agent

Done my downgrade at TM Point Kepong on the 14Jan2025. Unifi Pro Upgrade 1gbps RM249 -> SWU4.0 500mbps FSU 1gbps 24month & 6 month waive
Lucky i downgrade early before they launch the swu5.0 which seems like not worth it coz no 1gbps offer

Anyway i thought SWU5.0 500mbps RM119 ? Seeing those previous post on the offer. Why u getting rm159
*
Rebooted my router just now, the upload speed went up to 500Mbps, but the download speed tested via wired, couldn't go more than 800Mbps. So I guess I'm getting the 1GBps upgrade? My ONU still using the old Huwaei HG8240, should I ask for a new one?

If I'm getting the 1GBps for 24 months and back to 500Mbps after, I don't mind paying RM159 smile.gif

BTW, I went to Kepong too and at first the guy said it should be bundled with Unifi Mobile but I said I'm not interested on it and I don't want my unifi tv either but he said, the package comes with Disney.

so does that mean we can opt out not to bundle with Unifi Mobile?

anyone manage to change your own ONT ? I found Huawei optiXstar F50 fiber + wifi 7 router in China market and not expensive. If can change the ONT then it benefit a lot. 1st space, 2ndly I guess latency lost (even not much) but fiber and router in 1 piece definitely can gain something.

That what was told to me when I call 100 spoke to UNIFI customer support if its bundle with your unifi then as I mentioned the bundle price RM139 (unifi home 500mbps ) + RM69 (unifi mobile postpaid) any termination will void the 6months free for unifi home and I have to pay unifi back and also get penalty . The marketing agent from unifi told me use 1month can terminate unifi mobile with no contract

haaa see, i guess kepong branch is the best so far no need bundle... if u getting 500mbps upload means u getting the fsu 1gbps
as for the ONU, by right yes u can request for new ONU since contract is renewed. but not sure will get the ultra 1/2gbps ONU or just a basic ONU since our main package is 500mbps
as for me my previous FSU 800mbps>1gbps got the DLINK Black ONU FX3060V, so when i downgrade to 500mbps, the ONU stays with me
159 for 1gbps is good

I tried chat with them thru maya, but was disconnected half way because accidently closed the chat. Grr.. but the lady rep was adamant that my 10 yrs old ONU (HG8240w) could still take the 1Gbps throw to it. She already resetted the port and I restarted my modem/network and still stuck at 800Mbps++ download. How do I persuade them to change the ONU/BTU or whatever it is called now? smile.gif

Since now they are pushing COMBO device regardless of speed

So now new installation only come with one device no more BTU + router?

Hi, just wondering if the following scenario is allowed

- Owner A installed Maxis Fiber 100mbps (alreaedy up and running)
- Owner B applies to install Unifi 100mbps (convert from TM Copper landline)

Buy one and just try it? Assuming you have the password it will likely work.
If your current or previous ONU is also a Huawei, I say the chance of it working is 100%.

I read most of the post , it's so complicated on SWU5 , some said this and that and must apply the mobile.
Who successfully apply 500mbps can explain on the offer ?
Why bill will not show Rm119 ?

Yes mine swu 4.0 the modem and router comes in 1. But after 1 year if your device spoil you can go tmpoint request them to replace you will have contract for the router (1 year)

It’s confusing, and I got caught in the marketing trick because they didn’t mention anything about SWU.

What I Was Offered
I was told I could renew my 500Mbps plan with 6 months free while keeping the same speed, but I had to subscribe to Unifi Postpaid 59 for at least one month and postpaid no contract

What Actually Happened
After renewal, my plan changed from Unifi 500mbps rm139 to Unifi 500mbps RM159 and Unifi Postpaid RM69 bundled with contract for 24months. When my one-month postpaid subscription was about to end, I called Unifi and was told that my plan was actually a bundle:

RM139 for Unifi Home
RM69 for Unifi Mobile
24-month contract

They also told me that canceling the postpaid plan would void my free 6 months for my Unifi home and I would have to pay the difference because the agent had signed me up for a bundle package and not what was offered to me. After complaint they listen back recording . They allow me to terminate my Unifi postpaid without effecting my Unifi home free 6months

I later found out about the existence of SWU 5.0, where different people received different renewal deals:

1. Some kept RM139 with no extra conditions and get 6months free and Disney for 12months
2.Some had to subscribe to postpaid for 3 months
3.Some got only 3 months free but still needed postpaid for 3 months
4. My friend case if renew price will become 139 to 159 with for stay with unifi 5.0 (swu) Disney 1 year and 6months free

There are many variations, and it seems inconsistent.

After renewal

So my question is after 6months free will it be rm159 or rm139

Don't bother

Most China gear already running on XGPON or 10G-EPON and they dont include backwards compatibility with GPON

Edit: Most china stuffs are "locked" to their own ISP to prevent it from being sold overseas

This one have to check with both TM and Maxis. Last I heard, TM not allow 2 providers running on same infra on same address.
