QUOTE(alloyion @ Mar 28 2024, 04:42 PM) Just want some advices from all Sifus here . My current company just took up the TM Unifi Biz 1Gbps package. managed switch? We tested via the WIFI getting the average 900mbps ~ 1gbps then we put in our switches and AP but the wireless AP speed was around ~ 400 mbps max. Switches and WAP all are gigabit port hardware by Ruijie. Then I found out that when I plugged in direct wired (cat 6) to the TM Unifi ONR D-Link DPN-FX3060V , I also get the same average 400 mbps but if I switch to the wireless connection I am getting above 900mbps to 1gbps. Any ideas what wrong? (i) traffic shaping on managed switch port? or your switch' port used for testing itself have restriction? (ii) mixed VLAN trunking with plain ethernet on same port? |

QUOTE(neekun @ Mar 29 2024, 09:04 PM) Got a call from TM telling me my upgrade from 800mbps to 1gbps is ready. Was informed they will give me a new dlink router. When I asked it’s a router or modem plus router combo, she said it’s a router. My current modem maintained as it supports 1gbps. Btw my modem is the white Huawei tm modem. If this is the case I can just reuse my current Asus ax110000 router. condition for getting new hardware is they'll reset contract, right? However, if they give me a Dlink router and modem combo, what setting should I set on the Dlink so I can use its modem function only but not the wifi router function? Thanks. |

QUOTE(soul_gamerz @ Apr 1 2024, 12:03 PM) Since when they changed that < 300mbps package getting private IP? no announce like last time pun? In my router page it does show 100.X range which is private right? before FSU2023, <=100Mbps gets CGNAT.after FSU2023, the limit also updated to <=300Mbps. nett effect: those accounts who by default weren't eligible before FSU2023, remained ineligible after FSU2023. |

not touching anything.
don't want to risk Hotstar "contract" subscription to go out of sync with general fibre contract. |

QUOTE(loui @ Apr 30 2024, 09:18 AM) I am currently at unifi lite 100mbps, paying 136.75 per month Netflix got many tiers of subscription.Saw a new package of Unifi Home 300mbps + Netflix which is only 139 per month The new package is more worth since I am paying Netflix separately Before I sign up, any catch on signing new package? Check first whether your expected Unifi subscription is bundling the tier that you are expecting. -- My unifitv bundles standard tier. But have option to +RM10 for premium 4K through unifitv add-on page. check if such option is available. |

QUOTE(go626201 @ May 4 2024, 08:17 PM) That's why i said Self-Built VPN is the privacy way to prevent data leak. 2Gbps fibre line but 100Mbps VPS. 😅😮💨But the disadvantage is u need to know how to setup the vpn and the cost for maintaining the server is not low. While it is possible to share the vpn with others for cost recovery, and also the server or bandwidth might be abuse and fully utilize at full time by others. Better share with trusting person. maximum possible after is 50Mbps ingress, 50Mbps egress at same time. |

my alternative set up to utilise the ONR's Wifi the ONR - 2.4GHz (signal is stronger compared to 5GHz, so even a single unit is enough) own mesh - 5GHz (signal is weaker but nodes are everywhere) I get stable connection. No need to deal with the idiosyncracies of devices continuously switching 2.4GHz to 5GHz and vice versa. QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ May 18 2024, 12:27 PM) Regarding the white/black ONR models, is there any possibility that Unifi will push firmware updates? I ask because I’m unsure if Unifi has previously pushed firmware updates for any of their stock routers. I am hoping Unifi releases firmware for the white variant to enable 2.5G on LAN1 if the hardware supports it, or for the black variant to allow bridge mode. Can anyone share their knowledge on this? My ONR, from subscribe 2Gbps until today, still 1.0.6 despite TR-069 enabled.i remember Anime4000 was joyful that his ONR received update on its own. Unifi and double standards. As usual. |

Or 1Gbps link, if you consider it's the bloody white ONR. i was thinking it would be better to set up VPN in local datacentre endpoint and then leave the international or local routing to the datacentre's own route management. is there gotchas or flaws to this thinking? |

TM should gift black ONR to 2Gbps account pre-existing before FSU2023 as "a token of appreciation". don't just leave us with half-baked white ONR. cHiLdHo0drEaMz and enduser liked this post

QUOTE(jonathanwhm @ Jun 11 2024, 10:54 PM) 2 weeks ago, I contacted TM to request a change from the A1 model to the B1. They sent 3 technicians to my home the day after I made the request, but they refused to change the model, claiming that the A1 was still working perfectly. The initial report was closed, but I called TM again last Friday to follow up on the CLOSED report is the contract refreshed? |
