Don't think any of these are THAT well known right? Except maybe the M247's

Might just make a remote PiHole server over in AWS SG if this is the case to bypass everything at once then  sweat.gif

mcmc and tm knows the ip now rclxms.gif

i understand this order from gomen.
i-don't-care that this is order from gomen.

to me, Unifi has breached a trust.
my question now, is this condered a breach in contract between Unifi and its subscribers.

i'd be happy if this can consider a breach and can cancel contract earlier without penalty.
*
probably have to lawyer up, last time I had an issue with unifi it took me a long time to resolve, only after I report to mcmc it got resolved. but in this dns blocking case, tm & mcmc is on the same side so kinda hard to fight.

question, how would this affect the aws & google planned DC in Malaysia? do they have their own line/route/bgp outside of tm's network?

I’ll still be talking to MCMC since they did help me in the past (Minister Fahmi filed a legal request on my behalf to Meta to remove someone who was yapping too much about his so called ethnic privilege) and I would like to meet them personally.

I think that this is a continuation of that help, but I think maybe it’s too arrogant to say that that’s the case - I want to understand why they did this, though, so I will talk to them tomorrow.
*
Please ask if they even thought of how blocks like these will affect the planned google & aws datacenters, probably will scare off any future DC investments too.

The not so good news in /k
DNS redirection saga could cause M'sia to lose billions
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5482122

I clap for Malaysia... Like I said, this kind of thing don't even discuss. They dare bulldoze it, this is the end result.

Don't forget the social media licensing and the kill switch still in the pipeline.
*
Called it, my guess is any objections and warning internally before the block was executed got ignored by those in the decision making chair(s). And this happened just when Malaysia was starting to get FDI from the tech industry.

weird.. after the dns redirection saga, i cannot use quad9 dns
on stubby/unbound/pihole/adguardhome/dnscrypt-proxy

all dig return servfail. other than quad9 are fine.
*
for me quad9 no issues; direct dig on my linux, dig bind9 with quad9 forwarder, dig adguard with quad9 as the only server, plain and DoH and DoT all ok

Do have a list of known good IPs?

I understand 60.xxx is cooked. I've been forsaken by that IP range.
*
60.x gets me north of 500ms response for most websites

115.x & 117.x is somewhere 50-80ms

only 175.x and 202.x has gotten me sub-20ms responses during peak hours

Mine is abit complicated

My previous plan was unifi 800Mbps - Loyalty Super Value (Broadband + MESH WiFi M9 Plus)

On 24 Sep 2024, received SMS stating modification order is successfully processed when I never requested one.

Called them to clarify if it was a Free Speed Upgrade and they told no. It was normal speed upgrade which automatically renews contract and was raised by sales. Told them never spoke to any sales rep and please cancel it. The CS acknowledge.

Suddenly, on 15 October 2024, received a message stating modification order is successful. Check system, it's shows Unifi Home 1Gbps - Pro Upgrade (239). Called them and asked who processed it but CS have no reply. And , they renewed the contract till 2026.

The worse part, technician never came to the premise to change or provide CPE. But in TM Service Acceptance Form, it is mention differently and also technician sign behalf of customer.

Gonna lodge a report at TM point. If not works, going escalate this to MCMC
*
Report to TM, best type out a properly worded complain and the details of it and paste in their support chat, ask for report number, then lodge report with MCMC under unfair practice.

I've had their sales rep/distributor tell me one thing, and then do another thing to modify my account for """"upgrade"""" without my agreement, increasing my bill. Took multiple reports and months before reporting to mcmc, took 2 weeks to resolve after I reported to mcmc and got rebate for the months that I had to pay more.

My plan went from 500 to 800. Currently using ASUS RT-AX55, capping at 300++ Mbps on WiFi and LAN.
*
You set it at 300 Mbps or your speed stuck at 300 Mbps?

Currently on Adaptive QoS, should I turn it off or set to bandwidth limiter mode so that I can limit bandwidth on certain devices? I have too many devices connected to my router.
*
The router's cpu can do traffic shaping/QoS, but at the cost of slower download/upload speed because the cpu is not that powerful.

So turn it off if want full speed

this free speed upgrade is no more than a marketing scam.

mcmc instructed isps to lower price, but instead, they maintain price and provide 'upgrade'

except.................... ur not gonna be getting 1gbps speeds to anywhere except to their tm speedtest page. not even other speedtest sites do as well as tm's.
in practical usage, downloads off pretty much all servers will remain the same speed as 500mbps or lower packages. from what im seeing, 30KB/sec to 10MB/sec is quite the norm. highest practical speed ive seen achieved is 50MB/sec, should be about 400mbit there.
*
The only reliable speed test I've seen is downloading games from steam, my 800Mb/s connection can download at 90~100MB/s. Granted it's probably using multiple connection to multiple caches to achieve it.

no service since last week. lodge report. TM contractor came. replace/rewiring fibre cable. have to pay RM529 (23mxRM23 per metre). said it was outside TM responsibility. contractor also said TM will rebate RM50 per day for loss of internet. Is this true?

Question:- why must I pay for rewiring? contractor claim fibre cable damage (reput?). i am only using unifi for 1 year (2 years contract). before was Digi Fibre for 2 years. possible they didnt change cable when install Unifi? can I report to MCMC? can I report to TM why need to pay contractor?
*
From my experience, TM only cover damage to their cable leading to your house, usually cable inside your property will have to be charged for replacement/repair, that said RM 529 is quite expensive, if it's not a long run, do ask TM if this is standard pricing.
