Yes but if I don't pay jack shit for a full promo, let's say full promo RM4 for RM4, or half the fare rm2 i will feel really malu asking for anything from my driver, what's more we are in the driver's property, in the driver's very own personal car. If they ask nicely ok, but some passengers are really demanding and forget their place that they are in somebody's personal car just because they are paying rm4 for 4 person. Not to mentioned so many of them likes to slammed the door but not even saying sorry.

Even taxi drivers also make more than that. One person taxi drivers easily charge rm10 for a short trip. Taxi rate charge 1km = RM1.20, Grab 1km = 0.20 sen non peak hour.

Why would you feel malu? Property or not you’re literally hiring a driver to drop you from point A to B and if ask to reduce volume, increase aircond etc (which are reasonable request) I don’t see any problem. If they get a promo and you get paid your own rate why do you have a problem with that? If the grab driver doesn’t like what they’re getting paid they can always choose to drive taxi instead and same goes to the rider they find it expensive they can always use another form of transportation.

Feel for you. Guess that's part and parcel of being a grab driver. Not ideal but people are like that sometime.

Generally, Malaysia has lost the civic sense long time ago due.

Guess that's the same feeling when people marah Teacher/ Doctor / nurse when seek treatment.

They should ask nicely though, personnel opinion on demanding (as long as not rude), should be nothing wrong since they are customer and you are a service provider (since your company / partner is the one who made the promo).

on the Same breath, you should also acknowledges some driver are also rude an inconsiderate. Based on my experience.

Case 1
Once I took a grab to my Car Service Centre and i ask the driver not to take the tolled road because the told road will cost RM 3.60 (2 toll) and the time saved will only be 5-10 minutes which seem not worth it for me. The driver scolded me and told me if next time when booking tell don't want toll so he could reject the ride because he want to balik cepat . It was not peak hours by the way and he can always balik taking the toll road.

I book a ride about 5 minutes before peak hours. the Driver practically moved a bit , guess once he notice it was not peak hour yet. He just stopped his car waiting for me to cancel. (I could see the tracking that he was just 3 minutes away but i was waiting for him for more than 5 minutes) Now is that ethical ? if you really want me to cancel you can message me to ask me to cancel or the driver can cancel it.

In Georgetown AA ride's fares have recently been consistently been higher than Grab's for the same destination (checked approx 1min apart)... eg RM17 vs RM12.

If all drivers can stick together, try to avoid grabcar saver (GCS). If grab wants to offer such servicd, at least have the courtesy to reduce the comm from 20pct to 10pct for all GCS rides, then it is worth considering to do. Else, it is just all additional cost/reduction of earnings tk the driver. Had a ride which took more than 30mins but fare was rm12 (distance almost 14km and traffic sienz). My own fault for accepting the ride, but it was first time doing 9-4pm on a weekday. Now will turnoff GCS option entirely. It is worse than GCShare since same rate but still 4 pax instead of 1/2

As others have said earlier, at normal rate a driver is barely break even, or perhaps slight additional income. If GCS, can deem at a lost, so what is the point from a driver perspective. Wear and tear, petrol, internet not part of earnings factor for Grab app.

From what i read before, SG grab beyond compare, good life/earnings tbh
