got the Steelmate 898G and installed it without any problem. the car works fine, though i have to say that the wiring warranty is over since the car's wiring had undergone some modification.
the immobilizer still works, but i've disabled the whole immobilizer system to make way for remote start. if you're thinking of keeping the immobilizer, then the remote start have to go. choose either one, it's either remote start or immobilizer.

the alarm system is piggybacked on top of the original alarm. the original alarm still works, and i could still use the original Perodua remote to certain capabilities. so now the car basically have 2 alarm system on top of each other.
and not to mention remote start, temperature checking, a few kilometre reception, 2 way communication, car status check, engine disabling, starter disabling, fuel pump cut off, lock/unlock sound and yada yada.

the original Myvi alarm system sucks.
the immobilizer thingy does work, but most thiefs now brings their own ECU and swap the ECU and render the immobilizer system useless.

how much and where u get it ??? unsure.gif

from the garage sales. cost me RM370.
installation is another RM80. so totalling RM450.

get it from a reputable seller that's willing to give a warranty, and install it at his suggested shop. installation modifies your wiring quite a lot, so only do it at a good shop. took me about 4 hours to install everything.

this thing retails quite a lot outside. found this selling in Serdang :

2. How can I switch off the alarm if I open the car with my key, if my remote battery is dead?
*

the original alarm is USELESS.
you don't even need to unlock the alarm. just open the driver's door with your keys without unlocking, the alarm will be unlocked automatically.

don't trust me? try this test :
1. wind down your front driver's side window.
2. get out of the car.
3. close all the doors.
4. lock the car with your remote.
5. then through the opened window at the driver side, unlock the door from the outside (without unlocking the alarm).
6. try and open the doors without unlocking the alarm first.
7. see if the siren goes off.

try it out with your car and see for yourself. the original alarm won't sound even if you break the window glass. it won't sound if someone breaks the windows, unlocks the doors from the outside, gets into your car, swaps the ECU, and drive off.

wht is the purpose of the opened window if u decided that we unlock the door with key from outside?
*

er, unlock the doors without using the keys.
through the opened windows, unlock the door using the door switch on the driver side. this triggers the central locking system and unlocks every doors. in my car, this doesn't trigger the alarm once you open the door (without pressing the unlocking button on the remote).

i guess...paskal's theory is wrong. at least for my car
i disconnected the horn so that i don't have to annoy everyone in my vicinity.

er wait, i've tried it with one of my friend's MyVi. a 2006 batch and it triggers the alarm if the door is opened without unlocking through the remote.
but on my car it doesn't trigger. mine is a 2007 batch manual MyVi SE. anyone with an SE could test your car?

sorry for the misunderstanding guys.

found out that the siren goes off after a while if the door is opened without unlocking the alarm from the remote. but to disable the alarm, just put the keys into the car and turn to ON. the alarm should be disabled automatically (without the need to unlock from remote).
sorry, my bad.

My myvi's steering shaking when braking at 120kmph++, something wrong with my alignment? Should I bring back to p2 sc? or is it normal because the abs kick in? sighz. There is rattling sound on dashboard and back passenger seat door. Headache.  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

the normal brake caliper problem.
and the normal rattling dashboard problem.

oh well, it's fine as long as it's not a proton.
