basically, u can not upgrade... meaning u can not take out the existing alarm in ur myvi.... as bcoz it got mobiliazer. once u touch the alarm, whole car is death... need to take back to P2 to do...

so what normally people do is add-on another alarm system to existing alarm lol....

u mean i hav 2 add another alarm system to my myvi, den wat about de ori wan?? wouldn't it conflict?? sry, noobie here... from wat i heard, my cousin upgraded his toyota avanza's alarm system oso but dunno how he did it... he put a totally new set of alarm system (those which cost bout RM300++ wan)... apparently de avanza alarm system oso like myvi wan no sound wan but i dunno whether he retain de ori alarm or not... mind explaining more plz...

What u have in ur myvi is just an inmobalizer, so to beef up the security in the car, a 2 way alarm is useful so it can alert the car owners in even of possible intrusion. It will never conflict but its more like a compliment to the inmobalizer.

got the Steelmate 898G and installed it without any problem. the car works fine, though i have to say that the wiring warranty is over since the car's wiring had undergone some modification.
the immobilizer still works, but i've disabled the whole immobilizer system to make way for remote start. if you're thinking of keeping the immobilizer, then the remote start have to go. choose either one, it's either remote start or immobilizer.

the alarm system is piggybacked on top of the original alarm. the original alarm still works, and i could still use the original Perodua remote to certain capabilities. so now the car basically have 2 alarm system on top of each other.
and not to mention remote start, temperature checking, a few kilometre reception, 2 way communication, car status check, engine disabling, starter disabling, fuel pump cut off, lock/unlock sound and yada yada.

the original Myvi alarm system sucks.
the immobilizer thingy does work, but most thiefs now brings their own ECU and swap the ECU and render the immobilizer system useless.

how long hav u installed ur dat new alarm system?? mind explaining bout de remote start feature?? how it works actually??

I'm sorry for making the misunderstanding.

der's actually an aftermarket product 4 de side protection garnish... it's a painted piece (according to the colour of ur car/black - any colour of ur choice) wif a chrome lining and a myvi emblem in chrome on it as well... i tink dat 1 look much better den de rubber piece u've mentioned, looks something like most of the toyota's side garnish wif chrome lining tongue.gif ... tink dey do sell those part in perodua SA or some accessories shops outside... sry but i dun hav a photo of it but tink it's quite common i c on de road...
