you're in malaysian, you should able to speak malay. because its really convenient for yourself also especially when you dealing with government agencies.
and guess what, i heard few times already people yell to bangladesh because they cant speak malay after many years in malaysia.
so yeah. you still need BM if you're gonna stay in malaysia.
if really cannot, just try your best.
