Lol still USB 2.0. iqoo strategy seem like always trying to go for first latest soc in Malaysia. This is the same case with their predecessor iqoo 11 😮‍💨

At least this time doesn't saw the useless bmw gimmick. At the same time the brand doesn't really have any selling point and track record in Malaysia.

Previous iqoo 11 only got some noise at the beginning then totally sink to the bottom after other major brand come out with the same soc 🤭

You dont need USB3.x if you are not going to support HDMI out. IQOO is a gaming brand from Vivo. I had an older model (neo 3 5g) and holy, you just need China ROM for these phone or they will be useless here. They have support for 120FPS for some games with China ROM but that is lacking with international rom. Also BBK phone have this pixelworks chip with blank frame insertion to smooth out framerate for those games below 60FPS but that is also not working with international rom. Just import it directly from China and you will get so much more.

Of course China rom also has some downside. Sometimes mcdonalds app wont work. Whatsapp notifications lag. Widewine L3 which would hamper HQ streaming on Netflix. This is just like the Red Magic gaming phone. Either you love it or hate it.

My unit is Malaysia set global rom 🤭🤭

Not just HDMI out. Some user will need to transfer file/photo out of the phone to external storage and hence USB 3.0 is much more faster. Of course there are cloud storage option but those got some limitation as compared to local external storage for backup purposes.

China ROM is just well optimized for china usage. For country outside of China, I still think global ROM will be better in addition to what you mentioned. I personally not a fan of iqoo, the only aspect that make it worth considering is how low the pricing as compared to main stream competitor.

Like red magic phone, the user base for iqoo was way too low but have to admit doesn't really heard any ppl talk good and bad about the phone for now. Btw let's see how they position the price since they excluded the useless three colour strip gimmick at the back 😂

The only way for them to push volume is to heavily engage social influencer in promoting the phone before launch to create the urgency to buy. Otherwise as seem in iqoo 11, when other mainstream brand like samsung 24 ultra, xiaomi 14, perhaps some honor etc etc launch with 8gen3 next year q1 onward then their phone cannot sell anymore.

Nah, how often would you be transferring large amount of file or photo in a year? USB2 is more than enough to be honest. If you dont like it, using wifi isnt that much slow as well. Hence USB3.x should not be mandatory unless it involved hdmi out.
