Before I port out from Digi - I have experienced both the pre integration network (just Digi) and post integration network (Celcom + Digi)

Before integration - the network speed is really, really great with almost 400Mbps speed (LTE-A)
Post integration - the max I could get is 120Mbps (LTE-A) and this is around 5am when the traffic is lighter.

Performance is much worse for devices without CA - getting around 20-30Mbps (with my mom's phone). Was able to get over 100Mbps before that.

You can imagine the frustration I am having with it!

Based on what I see on the speedcaps, CelcomDigi is clearly learning the bad things from those European telcos (and possibly it's 1/3 parent Telenor), which do implement speedcaps on their so called 5G "unlimited" plan to maximise their profit - as there is nothing to do other than implementing speedcaps because the plans are already "unlimited". Note that Telenor's subsidiaries in Norway (Telenor) and Finland (DNA) offer "unlimited" internet but with speed cap.

True unlimited means unlimited data usage and uncapped speed (the max possible) - which is impossible on mobile networks due to congestion. Unless the telcos are clearly using mmWave to cover the majority of the population, which is impossible and impractical due to its spectrum characteristics.

Most likely slowly Celcom and Digi website and app will be gone. All digi and Celcom users will be under celcomdigi.

Instead of copy paste from current digi and celcom they created a new plan.

This is celcomdigi. Previous they introduced fiber then postpaid and now prepaid.

I'm not sure if the 1mbps got fup or not. Even if got, at the speed of 1mbps, very unlikely you'll run out of quota.

1mbps is not appealing in 2024. Especially when you go RHB also they ask you download a separate queue app. You go JPJ also they ask you download another queue app. You just never know when you need a good speed.

Imagine you wanna send video with WhatsApp.. lol good luck with 1mbps. Probably phone will heat up and battery also drain.

My current plan also is 6mbps.. for me still ok. But it can be slow when need to download urgently.

As part of the merger requirements, the company has to offer all their products in a single corporate brand (CelcomDigi).

So slowly individual offerings from under Celcom or Digi sub brands eventually has to gone in the future. Integration are still in process.

Meanwhile, I have recently switched my mom's existing Digi plan (ancient Big bonus 28) to the CelcomDigi Kuning 5G 25 plan. She is not really a big data user - she mainly uses Unifi broadband at home for internet (but a heavy talk user) - hence the decision to switch to this new plan. Their previous offering are too expensive for me to switch.

Regarding the 5G 100Mbps speed cap, it is hard capped to close to 97-98 Mbps range while on 5G (tested on Poco M4 5G) despite there are enough capacity to go more than 600-700Mbps (tested using Maxis, posted as a reference) in my area. Of course 4G can go faster than 100Mbps.

I doubt she will notice any difference in terms of speed though. For me I do download heavy files frequently and also a heavy HD/UHD streamer means that I will stick to the ones that offer uncapped 5G speed at this junction (Hotlink, Yes Power 35).

Mysteriously, VoLTE again went missing after I migrated my mom's plan to the new plan and now I have to ask CelcomDigi to reactivate it again.

Hi all, need some suggestions/advices from you guys since you guys here are pro.

My parents current plans:
Dad: Digi Postpaid 60 (Senior discount RM10) 60GB data - RM50+6% SST
Mum: Digi Postpaid 50 (Senior discount RM10) 50GB data - RM40+6% SST

I would like to change their plan to prepaid because it seems like prepaid offered much better package and also no need pay for the 6% SST (right?) lol

Look forward from you guys ya, thanks in advance.

It is no brainer for your dad to switch to 5G 39 Kuning as it offers significantly more data than the current offerings (60GB Vs 75GB and 6GB hotspot). For your mum's case, does she regularly use more than 30GB of data per month? If yes, choose 5G 39 Kuning. If no, then choose 5G 25 Kuning with 30GB of data (6GB hotspot) and save more money.

And yes, there are no 6% SST on prepaid for Malaysians.

During promo period (until 30 Jun, may be extended) you will get extra 10GB mobile data + 24GB extra hotspot data.

For prepaid kuning, does it mean 4G speed also capped at 100mbps?  I can't find any clause states that only 5G speed is capped.

Internet speed for usage on Celcomdigi 4G is not capped. But the congestion means that it can be difficult to get 100Mbps and above on 4G.

My home is on the merged Celcomdigi network area and the B3/B1/B8 bands are severely congested compared to before merging (easily getting 400Mbps on 4G on just Digi). The congestion is partly relieved in my area only after they restart B7 2600MHz (Altel band).

Based on what I know, CelcomDigi has a promotion where those sign up eligible postpaid plan in Johor Celcomdigi store/dealers are eligible to get 12 months free roaming in Singapore.

but 12-month only this one.. comparing to the hotlink one at similar price that has free roaming to lion city always... it may not be too attractive...

It will still work on 4G network as long you connected to the correct partner network.

Celcom MNO IP is now Digi. I think they'll probably scrap Celcom routing soon

Noticed the same for me. Maybe "Celcom" as an ISP will become something in the past, and "Digi" renamed as "CelcomDigi".

Interestingly Digi is labelled "50216" here - MY CelcomDigi is actually "MY CELCOM" - that has overrided immediately, once I inserted Celcom SIM. This was from Galaxy A06 5G.

50216 is the network code for Digi.

It can and might be other way round - as Celcomdigi is now prioritising selling Celcom SIM on their website instead rather than Digi - if you have noticed recently, all new sales for Celcomdigi are defaulted to the Celcom website.

Anyone who know that if this bonus credit can be used to buy any internet pass (for example monthly RM25 pass)?

Yes, but better to reload at least 3 days before next time auto renewal date because the credit are quite late to credit in
*
Well that SIM has no internet plan anyway (it is primarily used for Google Play billing, so I have a way to maintain a number with Celcomdigi when I actually need data with them in the future) - I plan to activate that pass when the credit arrives, and deactivate it as soon as I activate it (I am on Biru, it will be valid until the end of the pass even if I switch off auto renewal)

Did you do the reload? When was the bonus credit credited? Was it in 2 days like previously?

I did, and I get the credit in a few hours, but to be safe, plan the top up earlier.

Yeah, first place I checked but nothing there even though SMS received and free RM25 is showing in USSD & old MyDigi app.

Also USSD *128# seems to be acting weird. Getting "Error performing request" half the time.
*
I also checked it via USSD - to really confirm that the credit is there. Only then I proceeded and buy internet pass.
