5G but capped at 100Mbps? laugh.gif

What a joke, my 4G+ already getting speeds of 150Mbps average before CNY.

Asking for RM40 but quota only 75GB, while their competitors Telco H, U and Y all min 100GB with full 5G speeds with quota shareable for hotspot usage.

WTH is wrong with CelcomDiGi? Went full retard?

No way I'm going to touch any of them, even with Next 5G Prepaid RM48, I am getting 85GB full 5G speed with 10GB hotspot and Unlimited SOCMED.

Speed can reach close to 1Gbps.

Did CelcomDiGi just hired a bunch of clowns?

So far after plan conversion no more BoS deals anymore. Hope it returns.

Also no more 6GB free quota reward for long term customers.

Better stick to your old plan then, don't be like me regretted all those loyalty bonus and monthly rewards like additional 6GB, Live Unlimited Music/Video quota 10GB and nice deals all gone. You get to keep full 5G speeds too.

Actually after the merger it seems both Celcom and Digi still maintaining their gateways/routing separately.

You might notice that DiGi still has better connectivity to Europe due to their past major shareholder Telenor while Celcom's added them as one of their major peer in their list of wholesale bandwidth providers.

I compared both my DiGi Prepaid line vs a Celcom line. The experience on my DiGi line had better connectivity to Europe and SG vs the Celcom one in terms of average latency and line speed stability.

On average, DiGi routing seems to be better than Celcom's

DiGi's connectivity to Equinix SG is also different compared to Sialkom's.

They got combined 400Gbps vs Celcom's small 50Gbps pipe.

If you are using Sialkom to connect to SG VPN servers that peer with Equinix SG IX, companies such as M247, OVH, Akamai, Microsoft, Apple, Digital Ocean, etc.

You'll notice the difference.

In fact, at home i can get both of my DiGi full bar 5g connection on honor 90 5g, meanwhile Celcom 3 bar 5g connection on my iphone 16 pro max, All 3 are prepaid

In terms of Internet speed both good
*
That means their network integration after the merger is not fully completed yet.

It is still 2 separate networks with each having their own IP range between Biru and Kuning plans. Both still operating their base stations separately.

That is why you're getting 2 different signal strength.

Anybody knows if the celcomdigi postpaid 5G SE is on Sialkom network or digi? I prefer sialkom.. won’t port over if it’s digi

Maxis has been terrible, but still can’t beat YES, that’s the king of no line indoors. Unifi mobile is like Maxis but worse network lolz
*
Urban dense and commercial areas DiGi's network tend to be better in terms of congestion and speed.

If you're located more in rural or kampung areas, choose Sialkom instead.

Celcom's routing to Japan is broken. The average latency from Malaysia to Japan is just about 70-85ms only but theirs is 300ms+.
This issue already present for months but unresolved.Weird thing is that DiGi's side team/IP range don't have this issue only Sialkom's side.
They really sleeping on their job.

Those who are on Celcom AS10030 IP range, can you please help ping the DataPacket Tokyo IP address and see if your latency to Japan is 300ms+

Idiots caught sleeping on their job.

Hotlink Prepaid Plan. RM25 but split data 30GB(4G/5G) & 30GB(5G only).
Don't think will happen. CD just merge tower. But, everything from bill code still split. If that happen, how CD want to change PPPOE settings for fibre customer ride on different VLAN.
*
Probably will take many months or years for the merging exercise to happen considering their incompetency.

Compare both AS10030 Celcom BGP vs AS4818 DiGi

AS10030 Celcom

Look at their administrators and compare.

As for the PPPoE settings, probably both sides will be merged under the @celcomdigi domain with their account usernames.

Very messy and in the process the redundancies created will ultimately result in lost of jobs with the overlapping roles.

is it me or digi use tailscale on mobile network latency spikes tho?

direct connection but floating around 80ms-140ms on east malaysia some areas
*
It's due to over-congestion on their peer gateways.

When I ping or MTR during early hours in the morning everything seems fine to Japan 95-110ms.

But during peak hours at night when everyone's online, the ping rates even to SG can spike to over 100ms.

guys, since when Celcom blocked internet sharing from modem?

how about Digi?
*
Only their unlimited plans with throttled speed such as 12mbps and 18mbps is blocked for modem use.

Their Prepaid DataSim with monthly 500GB data at RM65 is among the most attractive prepaid broadband deal now in town.

When finished up using 500GB, you can still continue using your modem at throttled 3Mbps speed until next renewal or purchase a separate data plan.

Those promo plans are just to let you try out, some after subscribing once 9 days used up the offer won't show up for sometime until the next month so you can't repeat buying them again. The same also with Telco U's Just For U offers.

They are use to let their subscribers try out the plan and once subscribed it won't appear again for sometime after it ends or it'll push another higher tiered plan to make you upgrade.

It's a marketing trick to make you revert to normal price once you get comfortable using it but you have to pay more the next time.

Hi guys, long time Digi user here, My old Postpaid 90 2021 (50GB data / month) contract just ended a couple of days ago and I want to update to newer plans.

I am looking at dropping down to Postpaid SE 40 as I dont need lots of data but I am wondering if the Essential Speed level 100Mbps , does it limit daily use?

My usage pattern: Morning till evening outside, normal browsing and occassional streaming. I do use it for hotspot for work out of office at times.

Will this plan's 5G speed be limiting?
*
QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Jul 20 2025, 05:20 PM)
100Mbps is more than enough for anything. Your zoom calls use 8Mbps max. 4K video streaming needs 25Mbps.

Speeds above 30Mbps only give benefit for faster downloads in general. Also benefit for shared connection like a home plan with many devices connected (which doesn't really apply with a mobile data plan).
*
Don't you all notice DiGi already started enforcing 100Mbps cap on their Prepaid mobile plans already as well.

My NX25 now only local speedtest can exceed 100Mbps, if you do international speed test to SG/Europe/US all cap below 100mbps already.

Really regretted fingers itchy made the switch from Digi Pelan Kuning 5G RM25 to NX25.

Now not only I got less separate hotspot data my speed now capped at 100Mbps fully.

If want to return need to pay RM4 more to upgrade to DiGi 5G RM29 plan with 35GB + 6GB HS with complimentary 10GB + 24GB to obtain full speed again.

What a messy team this DiGi Celcom merger is.

why not go back to Digi Pelan Kuning 5G RM25?

or is it the plan dont exist anymore?
*
There is simply NO OPTION to re-subscribe. Only NX25 is available now. The most closest one would be Digi Pelan Kuning 5G RM29 now if I want to go back.

It's not just the EXTRA Hotspot quota that'll be getting. The NX25 Plan now caps all users with only 100Mbps unlike previously without speed restrictions.
You won't notice the speed difference if you're testing on local server, but if you switch to SG speedtest servers or further, you'd see you speed won't exceed 100Mbps or just slightly more.

thought this NX25 plan has 40 GB @ 100mbps for 4G/5G including hotspot enabled?
*
But the Pelan Kuning RM25 plan which gives even more hotspot quota DOESN'T.

So it's considered more of a downgrade. Only benefit is its shared quote that can apply on both phone and hotspot.

Speed wise, downgraded.
Quota given, less.
