The 5G speed tier is unacceptable.

I stayed with Celcom because of their free roaming in 23 countries for Plan 188 for up to 100 GB as I travel a lot.

With this new change, although it says unlimited roaming, normally there is a high speed FUP of around 2GB per day. So, I am waiting to see their detail T&C tomorrow.

Will see if they force us to change to the new plans or can maintain current plan with all the features.

If force to change to new plan, I will port to Maxis.

may I know which plan under Maxis sir if you are going to port out? I have same use case as yours whereby the Mega 188 gives free roaming and 2TB quota.

Haven't decided which Maxis plan. Maxis roaming plans have high speed FUP of 2GB per day.

But looks like for existing Celcom Mega Plans, you can maintain it until further notice.

The new Maxis postpaid plans are very good, much better than the new CelcomDigi tier and speed cap plans.

Wonder who are the smart marketing and sales people in CelcomDigi who came up with these plans.

Thinking of porting to Maxis but only thing that is keeping me in Celcom is the free data roaming in 23 countries for current Mega 188 plan.

Since 2006, I have been using Maxis as my main line. I ported my postpaid main line from Maxis to Celcom in Dec 2022 because Maxis had no 5G that time. Then I got another Maxis Hotlink as back up line.

After using CelcomDigi for almost 15 months and Maxis has 5G now, I ported my main postpaid line back to Maxis last month. Maxis is my postpaid main line and I still have a CelcomDigi prepaid for backup. I am using multi sim Fold 5.

My experience with CelcomDigi is very bad:

- In KLCC and other city areas, when connected to full bars 5G, it takes a while to load some apps (eg Astro Go, Play Store app updates) and websites. Sometimes, it can't even load. I am sure it is CelcomDigi network issue because when I switch to Maxis (also full bars 5G), Maxis would load these apps and websites immediately with no issues. These happens quite frequently.

- Maxis connects to 5G network almost instantly. Many times, CelcomDigi will only connect to their 4G/LTE network at the same place when Maxis connects to 5G.

- When I am on Maxis now, generally, I feel my apps, websites load much faster compared to when I was with CelcomDigi.

So my personally experience is Maxis is still much more reliable and stable especially in KLCC and cities and no regrets switching back to Maxis.

Not to mention, CelcomDigi postpaid plans have different speed; Essential, Advance, Premium and Ultimate for 5G and Maxis has no such thing. All postpaid plans have same 5G speed.

Why not change new plan? CelcomDigi postpaid 80 gets 90GB data
*
Maxis Postpaid 79 gets 160 GB data with full 5G speed.
Maxis Hotlink Postpaid 70 gets 140 GB data with full 5G speed and free roaming in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

If the places you spend most time have good Maxis coverage, I would go for Maxis.

CelcomDigi really getting worse.
Sometimes even SMS cannot receive (OTP).
Tried few times only can.

5G also slow in certain area.
*
If you create new email accounts with Outlook.com, you wont be able to receive the SMS for phone verification if it's a Celcom number. Maxis no issue. When PADU was launched, those using Celcom number for SMS verification also didn't receive until much later when they acknowledge the issue.

yes, i used the digi roaming in china, it does not have prob accessing youtube etc..

but using china hotel wifi or free wifi all cannot access...

When we use roaming for any Msia telco overseas, all data routed back to your Malaysia telco servers, Malaysia IP address. It's as though you are in Malaysia. That's why you can watch Astro Go while on roaming but if you watch Astro Go overseas even with a Malaysia VPN, it won't work.

Totally agree with this.

Port to Maxis... Of course, some places, people may have no or bad Maxis coverage for whatever reason but overall, I find Maxis more stable and better quality after using both CelcomDigi and Maxis.

I keep CelcomDigi Edisi Kuning Prepaid now as my back up line. Maxis is my main line.

Another complain I have about CelcomDigi is that they don't work smart.

Every month, Celcom will email my bill amount due and then I have to retrieve my pdf bill from the Celcom app to see the entire bill. This is fine when you are still active with Celcom and can retrieve it from the app.

I ported from Celcom to Maxis end of March before my final March bill was issued. Then they emailed me amount due for March on 31 March and today (30 Apr), I received another email for April bill for a small amount. This is probably the final bill from Celcom.

For both 31 Mar and 30 Apr bill, I have to call Celcom customer service to get them email me the pdf bill as I can no longer retrieve it from the App. They will take 3 to 5 business days to email you the pdf bill.

Why don't Celcom attach the pdf bill to your email when they email you monthly amount due? Maxis will attach the pdf bill. If only CelcomDigi can be little smarter.

Are you sure if you change to the new CelcomDigi (Digi) plan, you will be on 12 months contract? Then why the new walk-in customer signing up for new CelcomDigi (Digi) plans have no contract? If that's the case, can port out to another Telco and then port in again to Digi as new customer?

Received call from CelcomDigi to offer me "upgrade" plan

My current plan: Digi Postpaid 40 2021 with 50GB without speed cap

Their offer new CelcomDigi 5G Plan:
1) RM60 with RM20 off
2) 1 year contract
3) 70GB 4G/5G quota
4) 5G Speed essential capped 100mbps

For me, it's a downgrade which i don't like the point no.4

Reject for this "upgrade"
*
The speed cap is rubbish. Digi Edisi Kuning prepaid and Maxis postpaid and Hotlink have better deals than CelcomDigi postpaid.

I used CelcomDigi for 15 months as main line and Maxis as secondary. Then I swapped my Maxis to main line after 15 mths because CelcomDigi prefers to connect to 4G network rather than 5G when compared to Maxis. My guess is CelcomDigi has to pay DNB for every GB data, therefore, they rather connect its subscribers to its 4G network.

Even when I was with CelcomDigi, their network not stable and always have connection issues. After I swap to Maxis as my main line, all these issues gone. Maxis is not perfect but they are much more stable and better than CelcomDigi. So, if your office/residence has good Maxis coverage, then I advice you to port to Maxis. You will see the difference. This is based on my personal experience with CelcomDigi for 15 months before I ported back to Maxis.

For KL CBD...

It's normally Maxis is okay...

But as everyone knows... Their plans & offering little expensive then others...

Another option is U Mobile... But not sure now still okay or not...
*
I have CelcomDigi Edisi Kuning prepaid as my secondary line. Edisi Kuning is basically Digi. I agree that Celcom and Digi have connection issues in KLCC area quite often. When I switch to Maxis, no issues at all.

Maxis is not really that expensive. Go and check Maxis Hotlink Postpaid. The Maxis Hotlink postpaid has better plans. This is the "red" Maxis.

Wtf, I went to Digi to request to change to esim. I was told them Becos now Digi and celcom did the merging. So Digi also follows Celcom’s policy that only postpaid can switch to esim…:

Damn….

Not true ... I just went to Digi Store this afternoon in Gardens Mall KL and got an e-sim for my secondary line which is prepaid Edisi Kuning, Plan 25.

The scammer contacted me via WhatsApp call, claiming to be from CelcomDigi. He mentioned a three-month bill waiver that would supposedly be converted into points under the MyDigi app. He then asked me to share the OTP code received via SMS, but I refused.

He ended the call.

I received such scammer calls twice, one BigPay and one CelcomDigi. Both times, I purposely provided the wrong OTP. I keep saying it is the correct OTP and told scammer that he entered wrong OTP. He was getting inpatient. Then after three tries with the OTP, he hung up biggrin.gif

First month after MNP, the RM29 autorenew plan was okay. Wanted to switch to the NX25 plan, but made the mistake of reloading RM30 first and triggering the autorenew.

Nevermind, why not just turn off autorenew in the app and then wait for next month and purchase? Turns out turning that off also cancels the RM29 plan immediately... got stuck without fast internet outside the house (well, got backup lines for this reason).

Have to call customer service, 14-24 hours to resolve (either refund or reinstate). Don't know why anyone would cancel a plan which still has days to run.... seems user hostile to me.
*
You should have filed a online complaint with MCMC. Takes maybe 15 to 20 mins at most. Guaranteed the telco will reply within 24 to 36 hours and refund you as they need to "close" the case in MCMC portal.

CD Prepaid NX25 has this new 100GB, 4G/5G for 30 days for RM12.

This CD Prepaid is my secondary line.

So, now instead of paying the cheapest RM25 for 40GB and unlimited calls, now I switched to this data only plan which is good enough as my secondary line is back up for data only. I save RM13 every month biggrin.gif

I don’t have this. I only have the app exclusive - one day RM 1 for 100GB. Is yours unlimited speed or capped speed?

Mine is the NX25 Plan, which is the Kuning Plan. The capped or unlimited speed depends on which Add On you subscribe to.

Is yours NX25 or UV25?
