Hi, sorry am not up to date - I'm an old old mydigi user (for a spare line which is held by a relative overseas). I use the RM1 every month to keep it alive, only reload and buy plan when said relative comes back for visit. Any pro/con to switch app from myDigi to celcomdigi app? Need create account or just receive SMS enough?

afaik, celcomdigi app is in testing and accessible by invitation only at the moment

you can safely stay with mydigi app for now

Thanks! So actually network combined but plans/apps still not yet eh. Good, I like the RM1 to maintain number.

For celcom, yes theres no super long validity anymore since like 10 years ago.

Digi still have rm108 validity for a year, or if you're lucky rm38 from box of surprise that appear randomly. They also allow buying rm1 validity extension even when credit expire. Depends on your plan grace period, can create calendar reminder to do that rm1 few days before line termination. I still have an old digi next plan with 90 days grace period, been using the rm1 validity every 87 days for a few years already.
*
I do have one old Digi plan with RM1 validity just to maintain number (held by relative who is overseas, but under my name).

But my question was about backup line. Meaning constantly valid, can be switched to on my dual-sim phone when primary line got bad network. Currently my backup line is hotlink - RM30 for pakej perpaduan 6 months 30GB. If my main (YES 5G) line got bad reception in mall or car park just switch over temporarily. Normally 6 months won't finish all 30GB. But YES getting worse, and I'm planning to put my main line on Hotlink now, thought to use celcomdigi as backup line, they don't have equivalent plan for light use.

Maybe can just switch the main to celcomdigi instead. But no confidence in network yet since I haven't tested it out in my normal areas since.... 8 years ago when I last used a digi sim.

celcomdigi main + hotlink pantas plan as backup 🌚
*
This is possible and under consideration. But I haven't used celcom or digi in years and dunno what the current network situation is like in my common areas (Subang Jaya, PJ etc) so a bit hesitant. Then again I guess with prepaid not hard to just try try.

QUOTE(axxer @ May 26 2025, 06:37 PM)
You go to digi in that situation, with either rm108 or rm38 1 year validity. Or if still want to ride on celcom network, go with tunetalk. Rm35 for 1 year validity. Celcom aren't insterested in being a backup line since they haven't offered 1 year validity since 2015.
*
For RM38 it comes without data right? RM108 gives 2GB a month? If without data then its not really useful for a backup line as I'd have to spend money every time wanna use it (well, depends how often it needs using but let's say once a week in some crappy line mall or industrial area).

Wow if can get 5G at home then can unsubscribe Unifi home rm140, n convert all 3 family users to 5GNX35 & cost only rm105.Currently Unifi+3mobile plan cost >180.
May be can even start with 3x 5GMX25 costing total 75.
*
Depending on usage... if wanna play online games the latency will kill you even with 5G. Especially late night when all the young fellas downloading and playing game.

If usage is netflix and chill then yes good idea.

Occasionally play mobile games, any latency problem?
*
Depending - I think most mobile games are not as latency sensitive. Very basic physics - if you're using touchscreen or controllers the control method itself will have more latency than the good old m+k or at the very least gyro aim.

The latency problem will mostly be fast action paced precision-required games. Not slow or turn based or aim-assisted or button mashers.

Just ported in to Digi Prepaid, what's the good deal on it? I guess the NX plans need Pelan Biru, the UV plans need pelan Kuning, but all these BOS are for the Digi Prepaid (can't see them on my new app)?

Edit: after clicking around a bit more, seems my sim was actually ported to prepaid kuning? But I can't see UV plans, and BOS can't be seen either. How to switch plans?

Hi guys, long time Digi user here, My old Postpaid 90 2021 (50GB data / month) contract just ended a couple of days ago and I want to update to newer plans.

I am looking at dropping down to Postpaid SE 40 as I dont need lots of data but I am wondering if the Essential Speed level 100Mbps , does it limit daily use?

My usage pattern: Morning till evening outside, normal browsing and occassional streaming. I do use it for hotspot for work out of office at times.

Will this plan's 5G speed be limiting?
*
100Mbps is more than enough for anything. Your zoom calls use 8Mbps max. 4K video streaming needs 25Mbps.

Speeds above 30Mbps only give benefit for faster downloads in general. Also benefit for shared connection like a home plan with many devices connected (which doesn't really apply with a mobile data plan).

New returnee to Digi here - last used it like a decade ago. Indoor reception much better than my previous YES line, and actually feels slightly better than my hotlink especially on 4G/4G+.

First month after MNP, the RM29 autorenew plan was okay. Wanted to switch to the NX25 plan, but made the mistake of reloading RM30 first and triggering the autorenew.

Nevermind, why not just turn off autorenew in the app and then wait for next month and purchase? Turns out turning that off also cancels the RM29 plan immediately... got stuck without fast internet outside the house (well, got backup lines for this reason).

Have to call customer service, 14-24 hours to resolve (either refund or reinstate). Don't know why anyone would cancel a plan which still has days to run.... seems user hostile to me.

You should have filed a online complaint with MCMC. Takes maybe 15 to 20 mins at most. Guaranteed the telco will reply within 24 to 36 hours and refund you as they need to "close" the case in MCMC portal.
*
Hmmm let me look at that now.

EDIT: Their step 1 is 'complain to telco' which is what I've done. Since 24 hours is almost done I will wait, if no response then complain to MCMC.

They did warn you that turning off auto-renewal will immediately terminate the pass, no?
*
The warning mentioned that it would terminate something called 'XXXXAUTORENEW' which I understood to mean the autorenewal, rather than the pass itself.

So the wordings are different but clear enough it appears.
*
The name of the subscription ends with autorenew. I think its reasonable to assume that what is being unsubscribed immediately is the automatic renewal of the service rather than the service itself.

The last NX25 is clearer because it states can still enjoy till expiry date. So it seems only Kuning/Digi will immediately cut access to what you've ALREADY paid for (which to me seems unreasonable, I've not see any prepaid provider do that before).

Had always been like that for pre-merger Digi even during NEXT era without autorenew function. Turn off meant immediate termination and forfeiture.
*
Customer unfriendly. But I suppose once customer knows then is okay.

They promised 24 hours, was not done by yesterday. Today morning I contact their chatbot, it says "resolved", so I open my MCMC aduan page and start putting in the complaint.

Then I login to mydigi app and see the refund is done already. I think I will still put in complaint that they should not cancel a paid-for subscription no matter what.

EDIT: Submitted the complaint. See what MCMC does. The chatbot has connected me with a live agent who is... not responding to anything.

Yes, but better to reload at least 3 days before next time auto renewal date because the credit are quite late to credit in
*
Won't that cause problem with validity?

E.g. reload RM30, you get 30 days validity FROM THE DAY you reload. 3 days later you buy a 30 day plan but actually can only use for 27 days because 3 days validity already habis. So you end up having to reload 3 days before anyway all the time.

No, will not affect validity, because when purchase or renew monthly plan will auto extend validity until end of the plan (28 or 30days depending on monthly plan)

Wait for real? Plans give validity?
