Previously, I was able to log in to my corporate Celcom number in the CelcomDigi app on my iPad, but now it is not working. There is a notice stating that the corporate number is currently unavailable and that they are working on it, asking us to continue using the legacy apps. Hope they can solve this issue before 31.12.25. sweat.gif

The new app has a lot of issues. It is puzzling that they are forcing user to use it. I am having issue with OTP login and finally able to login after multiple rounds of clearing app data and cache.

Not to mention some prepaid plan from legacy Celcom XPAX is no longer available on the new app. mad.gif

So mcmc appears had loosen some of condition when merger agreement done. Including spectrum original need to given back (B3 and B7) they can get back some of them. Although just actually more than half of which originally need to give back.

B7 when merging, 40mhz total 2x10 X2
Needed to give back 40mhz
(excluding another 40mhz altel rented spectrum). Now after reassignment, 40mhz got back

B3 when merging 80mhz (2x20 X2)
Needed to give back 10mhz
now after reassignment 70mhz remaining + newly reassignment 10mhz (2x5) = back to 80mhz

B1 20mhz is not given back, probably already under process of retendering and reassigning across other telcos

In total CD got back 50mhz out of 70mhz that supposed to given back

Even the original yoodo, was recently relaunched as Spark plan rather than being shut down completely

B1 20MHz (10MHz X2) that CelcomDigi held before already went to Maxis, which sounds like a "consolation prize" to them.

https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...trum-assignment

For CelcomDigi, they merely gained back some of the spectrum they are forced to give up (not all, some of them does went to Maxis).

U Mobile is still the largest "winner" - as a result of them getting the right to roll out second 5G network - they bagged 140MHz of spectrum set aside for 5G use (20MHz X2 on 700MHz - this can be used on both 4G and 5G, and 100MHz on 3500MHz)

If users still hold on with 4g only phone, then what can do is get either maxis or CD since spectrum already reassigned across then. Whether the actual speed in 4g will be depending on CA combination support, location and other factors

Maxis advantage: if phone support inter-band CA, then more speed in 4g (spread across 2x10 20mhz B7, rented 2x10 20mhz B7 from Redtone, B3 2x20 and also 2x20 B1, increase from 2x10 B1 in particular)
CD advantage: in some area dominated with B7 & B3 coverage then more speed in 4g (because now with 2x20 B7, rented 2x20 B7 from altel as addition, and B3 2x40 max and B1 still 2x10)

Yes all of them are correct - CelcomDigi and Maxis have massive mid band 4G holdings that can provide all the speed on 4G. This is especially true for CelcomDigi - their 1800MHz and 2600MHz capacity are huge (40MHz X2 on both bands, after including the rented spectrum, and obviously the spectrum they own).

But U Mobile also have the same advantage, too - the 20MHZ X2 700MHz spectrum - this particular band is the band can be used on both 4G and 5G (even though it is assigned for 5G use), potentially improving their coverage and speed too. They may have lesser mid band spectrum for 4G (especially when compared to CelcomDigi), but they did gain massive spectrum on 700MHz.

Even DNB used the 700MHz band, as the LTE anchor band for 5G NSA.

700mhz for n28 as long as in SA mode is also okay providing that 5g phone support n28. Many china imported phones, especially newer models, now only support SA mode.
If still stuck on NSA mode, then no more advantage already (and for above Chinese imported phones lacking some of b28 is also a problem)

Local sets will support both B28 + N28, the N28 only (no B28) case particularly affects some sets targeted to China and India.

Only a few specific plans support 5G SA, including Yes Postpaid/Broadband, U Mobile Postpaid U98/U Biz 98, the long discontinued U Premium/U Platinum, Maxis Business Postpaid (with an add on).

CelcomDigi, Unifi Mobile, all prepaid plans (the majority in Malaysia), and MVNO telcos all did not support 5G SA just yet (even though the DNB network itself fully supports 5G SA, obviously U Mobile Ultra5G), so certain models imported from China will stuck on 4G anyway (unless 5G SA is activated for their plan, and they have the correct software).

I have a Global Poco M4 5G (which has B28), that won't work in Australia (blocked) because the IMEI "unluckily" fall in the range of Indian version of the same device (it lacked the 700MHz B28, only N28).

Device blocking is a huge problem in Australia, ever since their 3G shut down. This made a lot of perfectly working devices unusable (they blocked the devices based on IMEI range) because they don't have the correct band support (especially B28) or software/is assumed to unable to made emergency calls by the mobile operators via VoLTE.
