Better don't go to Langkawi, the problem is not the place... is the people there
They already turn to radical ideology like memali 2.0. with Sanusi & PAS Even if your friend go there to drink, the local will use their hatred eyes staring at you cause you make their place become non halal Better stick to Thailand where their people & culture do not created hatered. ![]() |

QUOTE(Kejun Law @ Nov 21 2023, 10:17 AM) I want ask if anyone of you have visited Langkawi lately for holidays? I have read numerous report in the press and I need to confirm. Reason is I have 3 company customers (2 from US and 1 from UK) that are coming to visit us from Sg and are asking to spend the next weekend in Langkawi. I was told by them they have impression that Langkawi of Malaysia is what Phuket of Thailand is. pulau pinang is a better haram island.I read numerous reports that very restricted beer consumption allowed and also the price has rocketed. Not able to wear shorts in public. Night bands are also very restricted and limited now. I called up the hotel to enquire but they gave general answers like no concern as long as in the hotel area. They are westerners, so these kind of restriction will be a concern. Anyone who has visited Langkawi lately, pls share your opinions…. TQ! you take them to langkawi, later lousy vacation and lose company customers....dont make decision and lose money and no dinner, no pap like Sunwhite This post has been edited by periuknasi: Nov 21 2023, 11:32 AM |

QUOTE(gaeria84 @ Nov 21 2023, 11:25 AM) Bali enters the chat Yes . I've been to both. That is why its back to the individual. If i want to go scuba dive i will go bali. If i want to go night markets and vibrant night stuff i'll go phuket. If i just want to chill and quiet then will consider langkawi. Myself been to Phuket and Bali many many times, but after one trip to Langkawi, I already not hoping to go back already, and it's got zero to do with just nightlife Langkawi's problem, it lacks a unique selling point unlike other islands (phuket - nightlife & bali - nature & beaches) and all these new restrictions only make it worse There are people who don't care about partying / nightlife, they just want to chill with their families. Lots of hidden gems in langkawi as well. Maybe u didnt find those? There are various waterfalls, cable car, hidden restaurants in paddy fields, water activities , too many to list here. U just need to know where to look and where the locals go. CallOfLegend liked this post

Langkawi n?ot that bad, the nature in langkawi is the best, the eagle nest, dayang bunting and waterfall are fantastic. agree they dont commercialize it enough but nobody likes crowded beach right? and booze still cheap, full moon party and private yacht still got, why worry? sunset on yacht with booze music and food is still damn cheap MegaCanonF liked this post

Reason is I have 3 company customers (2 from US and 1 from UK) that are coming to visit us from Sg and are asking to spend the next weekend in Langkawi. I was told by them they have impression that Langkawi of Malaysia is what Phuket of Thailand is. i live hereI read numerous reports that very restricted beer consumption allowed and also the price has rocketed. They are westerners, so these kind of restriction will be a concern. Anyone who has visited Langkawi lately, pls share your opinions…. TQ! no restriction on alcohol consumption, as long ur legal drinking age, no ID check policy anyway, obvisously no open drinking like in most civilize country. those making noise about alcohol, are not aware what is going in the background. some license holders and business were shut down becuase illegal alcohol smuggling operation, to mainland, thailand and indonesia. alot of helangs not happy. easy to just blame PAS. when its was just customs and police doing thier job. i wear shorts everyday. even on the beach, many nons, and tourist pakai bikini or shirtless. because majority crowds here are Muslims, maybe local culture wise dun show skin much, people assume got banned or dress code. some may feel awkward when everyone is fully covered, and you are not. some might look at you, so maybe feel personally invaded. alot of misinformation, thanks to media alot of fake news about the island becoming more taliban. in my opinion not taliban yet. nons still freely doing their business aslong it is legal. night bands, still around, just have to known where to go deal. since 90% of island is malay, rarely they hang out in bars and clubs. so i wont be surprise, your typical malay do not known where to go. and obviously the tourism board run by LADA and fed gov do not care to promote such enterprises. alot of them in cenang, pantai tengah, hotels, and some parts of kuah. many guides online. yes the number foreign tourist are down, even before Covid lvels, langkawi tourism is very seasonal and still is, not like our neighbors in Thailand and Bali. Langkawi is far more calmer and chill compared to Phuket. There are many activities to do in langkawi, and able to cater to many interest. from yatching, beaching, watersports, caving, extreme sports, island hoping, nature hikes and ride, history, eco-tourism and more. If you want super quiet and private beach, they are mostly in the northern part of the island, the tourist beaches are in the west end, like cenang and tengah. so plan ahead what are you looking for. its about 30mins from one end to the other end. some hotels even provide a one stop shop experience like a theme park. some of my fav things to do, is get on my jet ski, pump gas, ride to some of the small islands and adventure. Lately more tourist have been coming here, thanks to the reopening of the cruise line. down the road, langkawi will live up to its name as an international airport and flights will bypass KLIA1 and 2. So here hoping the island makes a good comeback, as long every official department pick up the slack, and stop fucking up. Gyazo liked this post
