There are 3 version

1984: Tony Leung

1998: Jordan Chan

2000: Dicky Cheung




Personally i watched 1998 and 2000 version, i finds that 1998 version is better, i just don like dicky cheung. Somehow some people said that 1984 version is better acted by tony leung. But of course storyline is better in year 1998.


Currently i am looking for the year 1998 version, anyone has it please PM me.

I watched the Jordan Chan's version and i liked it. I hate Dicky (what kind of name is that anyway) so i don't even bother watching his version.

nope, of course hk doesnt ban him. it is him who chose to go to china bcos apparently tvb wasnt paying him so well and he gained more money in china. his popularity in china is also an undeniable force.

i watched all three and i think the 1984 one is the best in my opinion. the music theme brings back lots of memories. U have to hear the lyrics which matches how one's life.

ya i fully agree that 1984 version is the best. Personally, i feel those remake... are too fake and silly joke. Also their (either Jordan or Dicky) acting really lower grade than Tony Leung.

i like the 1998 remake. (one of my favorite TVB series to date) mainly bcoz jordan chan does look like a hamsup guy.

but it is hard to find the cantonese version.

crunchyroll 1998 version is in cantonese.. da 2000 1 is in mandarin

Watch both 1998 and 2000 version. I like Jordan Chan version cause he is a funny dude. But my mom keep telling me that Andy Lau and Tony Leung one is the best among all. I saw the 1984 version today in Speedy. Selling at RM 240 =.="

alot of my frens like the 2000 version. but i personally think 1998 version is obviously better. dicky's acting is fake. got a bit over. jordan's acting is more natural. he is really funny n hamsap in the show... hehe... can't wait to watch his new series with charmaine seh. i think that will be good too....

Another version which is movie (not drama) which act by Stephen Chow oso nice and hilarious !!!

Jordan's version was quite fun to watch back then, that's the only version I watched.

Stephen's Royal Tramp duology is one of his best work of all time.

I agree 1984 version is the best. The cast is the most suitable because of their age. Stephen Chow, Dicky Cheung or Jordan Chan were too old for the role. I am not saying their version is bad but if you compare it to the 1984 version, you'll know that its not as good. The chemistry between Tony Leong and Andy Lau in the 1984 version is something legendry in the world of HK TV series. I think I read somewhere that Louise Cha mentioned before Tony Leong is the best Siu Bo so far.
