So i have a tmall genie at home. Used to be able to play random cina song using voice command. But lately the device no respond liao, keep asking me to register some account. Seems that songs are not free liao, need subscribe like spotify?

I cant read mandarin btw. Bought this for my wife... who knows mandarin .... she just say now need pay $$$ to listen to song.

really need to pay $$$, got any way to jacksparrow it? flash firmware or anything?

Tmall genie is easier cos can use voice command ask for random cina song. If link with spotify u need to take out phone, connect the bluetooth then tekan playlist. so ma fan. And it will tether to the phone so cannot browse jewtube while listening to songs.

i tot taobao account can be registered with any msia phone no? have they changed recently?

most of those chinese device can't use outside china... for example some of my xiaomi devices need to connect to the china server in order for it to work / view in app.

i have tried 4 simcard
only work for 1 day or less

then account frozen.

i brought xiaomi fan, dehumidifier, neck massage all can use without problem just press the on button and it work flawlessly.
who say u must connect to china server in order to use most of the devices?

unless if the product require apps to work like xiaomi smart switch, then ofcoz u must connect to china server lo to register the product.

just change the country of your xiaomi account and register it. u can use anywhere u want.

ohh then i m not sure already coz my account was created very long ago without the real id verification

thats why i say some, not all devices. some "dumb" devices that dont require app to use, you can use it anywhere.

as for changing the server, can be quite troublesome. for example, i have mixture of device from china and international. i can't use the manage both devices at the same time because of the location setting.

i also have a device (non-xiaomi) that can work without the app, but with app you'll get more features. but in order to use the app, you need to register with a chinese phone number.

Have you try update to the latest tmall genie app which have the option to link CN 3rd party music app like kuwo, kugou and link them?

all of the device i brought is smart as long as it is connected to internet i can switch them on anywhere but need to change server to china in order to do this.

most android phone can dual apps. xiaomi come with their UI to have dual apps.

1 in china 1 in msia problem solve. i have 40+ devices in china server and a few in msia.

i also install xiai voice command apk in my phone so can command my devices.

i have xiaomi bluetooth speaker that can play music but random songs. specific songs that require subs only can play for 1 min.

xiaomi ride with qq music which i have no why to register using msia sim

The only solution i can think of is to pair it with old phone side by side. But i lose the voice command function, and for chinese songs i cannot read/write so very mafan if pair with spotify. sighhhh...
