Exactly, there's a lot to learn about a sport other than hitting back and forth. gonna know the basics, not just hit for the sake of hitting the bird / ball
Buy good equipment doesn't equal to good player. Anybody with skills / training can easily tapau a noob with cheap equipment.
that's why when i start coaching newbies
i will always tell them that the first two weeks of training will be very very very boring.

first and second week, i will train them without the squash ball.
training with just the racket.
learn how to hold and grip the racket.
learn about body positioning when hitting a forehand and backhand
learn how position the racket before swinging a forehand / backhand
etc etc

yeah but not all newbies can use the high end racket.. as in fully utilize it. Later might even injure himself / herself if get the wrong equipment.
like tennis shoes for badminton..

Unless they get head light to even balance spec then ok.
If they straight away using full head heavy racket then can get injured.

Now is Rocket Gel 11.

if want more economical, Asics upcourt is good enough also.

Tats right. Not as easy as they thought. Even swing also have right technique. Anyone can hit shuttle just that not in right technique and stance.
Basic badminton stance also need to learn 1st before start hitting shuttle.

since TS nub, definitely spend more on shoes first

since its important gear, and besides after awhile you will just keep changing racket anyway until the suitable one fixed on hand

next would be on training kot. or if you get the gist after some time, practice but watch youtube on the proper technique and try applying

Only tat need alot of adjustment if using tat cheapo racket. For smashing not so good but to play setting and bully opponent can. laugh.gif

nowadays i play mostly on placing and setting to beat opponent.
to save me from having some muscle sore the next day.

just placing and setting make them move from corner to corner, front to back, and wear out their stamina. LOL.

Same as me. Less playing smash now a day. Placing and setting good enough to win. Make them move around the court. tongue.gif
