Hi, I'm planning to get either YES wireless broadband flexi or Umobile U home 5g as they are contract free. However, I would need to buy my own 5G router which seems to be quite expensive. Can anyone recommend me a 5g router preferably from shopee? Been looking at a few options: 1. ZTE MC801A - RM758 2. Huawei 5G CPE Pro - RM689 3. Zyxel 3 NR5103E - RM559-720 (Add on antenna?) https://shopee.com.my/ZTE-MC801A-5G-3.8Gbps...00-9e646c3ce8aehttps://shopee.com.my/%F0%9F%8C%9FUmobile-5...57-5c13589591cchttps://shopee.com.my/%F0%9F%8C%9FUmobile-5...42-cff0cf257672which one would you recommend? Don't feel like using a 5g phone as will be on 24/7 and for the household. Thanks in advance

Pls bear in mind. Options on bands are available under debug page. Pls clarify with seller if this is available. Also please make sure u r in Yes coverage area before embarking on taking up this decision. This post has been edited by bios123: Nov 14 2023, 11:11 PM

For a great home 5G broadband experience, don't skimp out on a good router. The sub RM600 ones most likely can only give you sub par speeds due to outdated 5G modem chips inside.

zyxel one can have QC issues, it's better to go with big name brand ones with warranty
consider also tplink x50 5g and nx510v

Can give the NOKIA FastMile 5G Gateway a look. Decent performance for that price.

Decent performance for that price. Yes, I would recommend both offerings from TP-Link and the Nokia Fastmile, but do take note that our local sellers are only selling the V1 (1st gen) Fastmile here in MY. Fastmile is already on its 3rd gen (V3) now. Or, if you can spend a little bit more, why not get GtenIQ, a very, very solid modem router that can really pull 5G signals in areas where there a weak 5G reception, and it's using the Qualcomm SD X55 modem chip inside.

QUOTE(JLA @ Nov 15 2023, 09:43 AM) olax g5 018 yeacomm g ten iq Olax & GtenIQ i highly recommend, but not Yeacomm. Their built in antennas are not powerful enuff to pull decent 5G signal from tower. Mileage may vary depending on areas.
