QUOTE(Nanti Sekejap @ Nov 14 2023, 11:12 AM) mine was 1% lowest. normally the higher value the property the more room for negotiation on the commission. QUOTE(westlife @ Nov 14 2023, 11:14 AM) icic. so 2 to 3% by seller are common. unless negotiated that buyer to pay a part, i doubt so. but ive only experienced KV transactions.but buyer no need to pay at all? i tot JB or penang -> buyer and seller share commission? |

QUOTE(sijun @ Nov 14 2023, 02:56 PM) ic. 1% is considered very low i guess?normally they charge 2% and above. i have not encountered any agent that charge 1% only. likely they give 'discount' personally just to win the deal? icic. 3.18% is a lot to pay just to sell a house. |

QUOTE(sijun @ Nov 14 2023, 05:32 PM) Icic. Then indeed to them better than nothing. Earning lesser at the meanwhile with sale figure also better than none.Besides, all these agents the agency company will chop 50-% from agent before they give the remaining to agents themselves? |

We call that earnest deposit. The purchaser will pay 10% deposit to the Vendor. From that amount, a certain % will be paid to the agent first. Usually is 3%. So the Vendor will get the remaining portion.
