Hello, there isn't any replies in another section so I'm trying my luck here.

I'm entering my 30s next year and I have started to look into loafers casually, it appeals to me so I plan to get one. I wear t-shirts / shirts + shorts ( chinos ) all the time, hardly wear jeans or long pants, so what kind of loafers should I be getting and what kind of material ? I was told by some friends to go for Suede because that material is suitable for casual wear. Would love to hear some opinions.

P/S - Is Clarks a good brand to buy loafers from ? Any other brand recommendations ? Tomaz is out because they are just like DW, looks good but quite lousy quality and doesn't last.

What is the maximum you're willing to spend on a pair?

This.

Had a pair that lasted years. Only needed the maintenance cream to keep the leather soft (do not use Kiwi wax).

Get a pair of Sketchers "Go Walk" series with plain black / blue / brown color and call it a day haha.

It can double as a formal shoe when in a pinch, and its comfortable as hell.

Just that its not waterproof only. Look elsewhere (nubuck leather) if you want water proof/resistant.

TS if u have budget, u can opt for Tods. I had 1 Suede and 1 Leather. The leather one is my everday beater it last me 6-7 years and the suede one is 3 years old now and still going. Its slightly expensive but worth the investment

I've moved on from the super-comfy but short lifespan Skechers brand.

Using Xtep and Camel brands now. Much cheaper, comfort level is like 75-80% of Skechers. The soles of those 2 brands is also less prone to slipping, and the Camel has the advantage of being more water-resistant....handy for rainy season use. Urge TS to take a look at their offerings in Shopee.
