I'm going to be working at DC Mall next month, still thinking of what mode of transportation to take, drive or public transport.

I'm coming from Klang (so no LRT no MRT rclxms.gif) so only got KTM, but KTM is not an option for me because it's too unreliable.

Here are a few options that I can think of on top of my head:

1. Drive directly to DC Mall and pay season parking (Damanlela open site parking - RM200ish).

2. Drive to Kwasa Sental MRT Park n' Ride (RM4.30), take MRT to reach Pavillion Damansara (RM50 per month with My50), walk to DC Mall.

3. Drive to Plaza Batai / Jalan Batai, be an asshole and park roadside for free. Risk of saman and towing.

Right now I can think of the 4 options above.

Any other options you guys can suggest?

Thanks!

It's worth to note that there is this very weird rule for Park n' Ride, in order to qualify you have to fulfill certain criteria.

LRT / MRT hourly parking is usually expensive, but if you Park n' Ride LRT / MRT, it will usually be a flat rate of RM4.30. But here comes the kicker, in order to qualify for this flat rate, you have to ride at least 4 stations away from the station you parked at. Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.

So if you park in MRT Bandar Utama and step off MRT Pusat Bandar Damansara (3 stations away only), you are not eligible for the RM4.30 flat rate parking, kinda dumb if you ask me. You actually have to drive out to a further station with Park n' Ride to enjoy the flat rate.

I would suggest no 2 -> 2. Drive to Kwasa Sental MRT Park n' Ride (RM4.30), take MRT to reach Pavilion Damansara (RM50 per month with My50), walk to DC Mall.

does that imply that you will be rent a place nearby to Kwasa Sentral area ?

I don't think it's dumb, it's a step to avoid ppl misusing it to replace parking fees. The execution may be dumb, but the idea is good to reduce traffic in busy areas.

Living in Klang at the moment, planning to reach work at 7.30am and leave by 4.30pm, hard to find people to car pool to fit the same requirements, some people OT and what not. Just by myself, then less complication.

I also think option 2, I can leave Klang by 6.00am, reach Kwasa Sentral MRT by 6.40am ish, reach DC Mall by 7.20am ish. And no I will not be renting a place near MRT. Prefer staying with family in Klang.

Not dumb but a bit discouraging for those staying near MRT station but office is only 3 stations away. So if you insist on park n' ride, you are forced to drive further away few stations, just to enjoy the park n' ride flat rate parking.

I will test run and see, but seems like others have been doing it for some time. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJsEhnhCcQA

That's 3 hours of traffic + mrt sardin everyday...

Well since you insist to stay in Klang, there's really not much option.

Take bike. I work this area too.

Tried public transport once, and that's more than enough bullshit for me already.

I have some colleagues taking the KTM and LRT from Klang to KL everyday and I always wonder how do they get through this. At least 2 hours one way somemore.
