Can anyone try to explain what is different among all of them? I know that LG and Samsung using their own OS so their TV called smart TV. But how can we differentiate them? Hope can help to explain as I'm still in doubt.

Android TV is Android Based, pretty much like your Android phone. You would see Play Store and some plain setting just like the Phone.

Smart TV is not Android based. More like Specific Program that run the TV with build in App. Just like plain old Nokia 3310. Where Smart TV is a program that run the TV. But you would still see those buidld in app like Netflix, Net Channel, Disney....

Google TV is kind of new to me thou. seems to be evolved version of Android TV. but maybe more specific as android for TV only. I pretty blur here too. You may try it out to feel the diff.
Sorry

Android TV will be phased out eventually (it already started a couple of years ago), superseded by Google TV.

Smart TV is simply a dumb acronym given to TVs that are capable of using Android/WebOS/TiZen/MyHome based OS.

Yes moving forward it'll be Google TV.

Yeah back in 2010 there was a Google TV SDK, but that got shut down in 2013/14 IIRC. Then Android TV took over and now they're shutting down Android TV and going back to Google TV again.

Android TV is old and outdated.

Google TV is the replacement and much newer.

Smart TV is probably using webOS.

Smart TV is not an OS.
webOS is only used on LG TVs because LG bought HP's webOS division back in 2013 after the failed Palm.

Best not to buy any TV with built-in OS. OS will go out of date or corrupted easily (especially Sony). Need to hard reset entire TV.

Instead, use an external box. When u upgrade the box, the OS gets updated too. Plus, the OS corrupted for some reason, the TV still works.

U still buy a box if u do serious local playback of the highest grades video as no TV player can offer same. Not any box but the premium ones.

For online streaming incl netflix, Disney, etc. Google TV TV does a great job, can forget the box.

Android TV... I hv a TV on atv 8 yrs old, still humming good, all gud with Google approved apps.Dunno when atv will be phased out. 10 yrs will be ok!

android tv is the worst. Most unstable, even casting YouTube video also have probs every now and then.

Google tv sometimes may still have the issue but very rare… still much better than it.

During my visit to the electrical dept of a shopping center, I engaged with on assistant regarding televesion options.
The assistant suggested to me was Panasonic Android TV as an alternative to the Google TV.

I can tell u the fact is that never trust the words from salesmen. They will only recommend u the products that they can earn the max commission.

Do ur own research and decide instead.

I’m using Panasonic Android tv, I have no issue with it. My Samsung smart tv is not as stable and sometimes in the middle of streaming in the evening it buffers but not with Panasonic tv.

I also find my Samsung tv annoying because of the ads on the Home Screen.
