After years of waiting, at last SPE is open to public usage from Friday midnight 3 Nov 2023.

Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway to fully open from 11.59pm Friday night, no toll charge until Dec 2

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): The 20.7km Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE) will be officially open in its entirety to motorists at 11.59pm on Friday .

This comes as the previously unopened 16.3km stretch of Sections 1 to 3 — from Kerinchi to Setiawangsa — of the highway to be open. A 4.4km Section 4 — stretching from Setiawangsa and Taman Melawati — has been open since December 2021.

According to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who officiated the highway’s official launch, toll charges at the three toll plazas — namely Chan Sow Lin, Ampang and Setiawangsa — situated on the stretch, will be exempted until Dec 2.

After the one-month period, cars will be charged the highway’s toll rate of RM3.50. With the highway fully opened, Alexander said it is expected to be used by 100,000 vehicles daily.

"The SPE connects with several other highways, such as the SPRINT, AKLEH, DUKE and MRR2, and will increase efficiency of the network and reduce congestion in Kuala Lumpur," he added.

What i meant is on DUKE 3 SPE alignment itself...u max incur 2 tolls along the whole way.

Like kerinchi link to wangsa maju, you would incur chan sow lin + wangsa maju only

If u include the older DUKEs... then max would be 4 DUKE tolls to pass through

total toll incur would be DUKE BATU 2 50 + KERINCHI LINK 2.50 + SPE CSL 3.50 + SPE SETIAWANGSA 3.50 = 12.00 for a whole loop

Is a common thing for hiway operator now, declare job complete but infact not. Like SUKE, declare done but still not yet complete job for road below that they screwed up …

My most expensive toll is RM2.70 for less than 100m...

Back then when they were constructing DUKE, traffic is so bad that many motorists are willing to pay RM2.70 parking fees just to go through Public Mutual (they have moved since) in Bandar Sri Damansara and exit straight to the road that leads to Kepong Industrial Park (KIP).

When you use the toll to come back, exit before Wangsa Maju else you will pay 3.50 toll

Just don't take that one.

One of the exit didn't open yet but the sesat Waze telling me to exit, tunaseng drove all the way up dunno where, car petrol remain low then exit dunno mana then luckily end up at bulatan pandan iinm.

Not technically but actually. However the exit is still blocked. Can skip the entire jam from kerinchi exit till mid valley exit. If you’re going towards Cheras/Seremban/KLIA/MEX can exit at Tmn Desa but not yet.

Having said that..I foresee when it’s fully open the jam would just transfer to that exit coz A) there’s a small toll booth area & B) you’ll rejoin traffic at Salak highway.

This evening I drove along SPE again. Yeah, exit at Taman Desa not yet open. Entrance from Kerinchi (Bangsar South) also still close. You need to enter from Kerinchi Link.

I exit midvalley mall at 825pm and enter SPE from Taman Desa (the entry route already open), 840pm I reached infront Setapak Sentral Mall. 15 minutes from Midvalley Mall exit to Setapak Central Mall. Driving 80-100kmph.

Then 9pm I enter SPE through Setiawangsa and by 910pm I already exit at the Sg Besi Highway / Cheras exit. But yeah, the design of that exit is quite confusing and I think just a matter of time an accident incoming at that exit.

Evening Peak hour traffic at Kerinchi link, most of the cars were going towards mid valley, blocking the lane that goes to SPE

Do not FOLLOW Waze to use SPE. I also kena today, wanted to go to Kuchai Lama from Taman Wahyu. Waze directed me to SPE, then to take of of the exit but the exit was closed. Ended up 30mins detour back to Jalan Tun Razak. In the end I didn't go to Kuchai Lama but balik Seremban terus. Really wanna screw the SPE management for opening halfway

From Mrr2 link to duke highway link to SPE exit to Seremban. This exit to Seremban means exit to tol Sungai Beri right ? If from KL East to Serembank will get 2 tols. That's crazy lol

End of SUKE will merge to Sg Besi highway just before Shell with Texas Chicken & Unicorn Hotel.

On SPE, the merging at Sg Besi highway is just before Petron Sg Besi Highway (opposite Nirvana). Merging to a massive jam area during peak hour haha.

Guys, this KNN SPE Highway is not fully open. I was tricked by BABI WAZE yesterday to enter SPE and exit Taman Desa (the exit is still closed), but I ended up having to exit Jalan Tun Razak!

from Ampang onwards until Taman Desa it is double stacked one direction, on top of me is the opposite direction.

No. Salak interchange only to Setiawangsa direction.
To go to PJ or Pantai direction use back the old way which underneath the highway and always jam.
