I went to home fair just now to start survey on 55 inch TV. But, there are too many brands and models in the market and I do not know which one suit me the most. Do you have any recommended brand? My budget is around 2k.

I made a summary of recent survey be it from home fair or shopee online. Should I go for budget brand like Hisense or Skyworth? Are they reliable?

how often u watch TV and how particular u are to those brand?
im the one that don really watch much, max 2 hours per day.
and i own Sony and Xiaomi TV. i can only said both are almost the same to me. Sony also get broken down when it time up.

so to me the key criteria to select TV is how much budget u have rather than brand. tech wise are almost similar one.

I also seldom watch TV. More or less the same like you. How about service support? Heard that Hisense service support not up to the standard.

How long you have been using Sony Tv before broken down? Is that high end or mid range?

my Sony broken down after 5 yrs.
then change to xiaomi... although quality got diff but to me is not very much and acceptable.
the xiaomi i got got dead pixel and i lodge report, after 1 mth the technician come and check then straight offer 1 to 1 exchange.
according to the technician they hardly repair tv this day and will straight 1 to 1 change. and regardless whatever brand it will break down also one.

given ur budget of rm2k only, u can only get the lowest end sony LED 55-inch at around rm2k which is the model u stated.

by rite this size, u should be able to get it around rm2k during promo period. obviously the homefair u went is not good.

Usually TV only come with 2 years original warranty, is it recommended to buy extended warranty? I heard that TV regardless of brand will have common issues with TV panel after 2-3 years. If yes, how can we buy extended warranty if the TV was bought from Shopee or Lazada?
