This maximum age thingy really got me wondering if its a provision for future draft
You read the news report further it states the actual age that's called for PLKN is at the YDPAs discretion |

QUOTE(Raddus @ Nov 3 2023, 03:21 PM) The confusion stemmed when they defined 35 as the max year but they memang had no plans to call up 35 yo. On that day when first mooted also say probably 17 or SPM school leaver. The up to 35 was just a statement on the max age coveredhttps://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2023/11/...ce-says-defence The Defence Ministry has clarified the confusion surrounding the age limit for the reintroduction of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN 3.0). In a statement today, the ministry said trainees for the programme would be selected based on their year of birth, and that only teenagers will be enrolled when the programme is revived. It further noted that the maximum age for participation is set at 35 years. So yeah.. potentially a future provision in case we need to draft But not a bad thing la. We never know how participation of the armed forces will be 20 years down the road. Its a tik tok generation now |

QUOTE(MegaCanonF @ Nov 3 2023, 03:24 PM) I dont think soI think tangguh and you pass the target age they skip you They dont have programs for old ppl also makes no sense to bring in a few 30 year olds and put train them separately I guess maybe in case draft is needed in the future. |

Unlike the US where there is a enrollment problem, we dont have an army enrollment problem because the job is seen as govt job and govt jobs are very popular in Malaysia.
And once someone is PAID, they should do their JOB. I can start to see the army shying away from this Palestine thing already. Want the salary but not the risk. |

PLKN should include training keyboard warrior, to counter wumao and amdk's keyboard warriors on social media platforms war. So ktard can applies for trainer.
Oh yes, kambing this year age 17, can take the lessons from ktard on next year. |

QUOTE(rd33 @ Nov 4 2023, 09:20 AM) fatty boom2 spotted. Singapore is a small country with less than 6 million people, of course they need Nat Service. Meanwhile Malaysia has 33 mil ppl and bumis would zerg rush to apply since its a govt job.SG also got national service. They have no war but they keep increase their military and have national service for years. Soldiers not enough to defend country, civilian need to have basic training on how to survive and use firearms. But I know if war gonna happen in Malaysia 40% of population gonna fled out of country, problem is if cant fled out of country like what happening on Gaza, ggwp liao And what has these soldiers done since the past 50 years? Malaysia has been peaceful for so long meaning its like gaji buta. So dont u think these soldiers who have been paid should fight first before drafting?
