The confusion stemmed when they defined 35 as the max year but they memang had no plans to call up 35 yo. On that day when first mooted also say probably 17 or SPM school leaver. The up to 35 was just a statement on the max age covered

Unlike the US where there is a enrollment problem, we dont have an army enrollment problem because the job is seen as govt job and govt jobs are very popular in Malaysia.

And once someone is PAID, they should do their JOB. I can start to see the army shying away from this Palestine thing already. Want the salary but not the risk.

Singapore is a small country with less than 6 million people, of course they need Nat Service. Meanwhile Malaysia has 33 mil ppl and bumis would zerg rush to apply since its a govt job.

And what has these soldiers done since the past 50 years? Malaysia has been peaceful for so long meaning its like gaji buta. So dont u think these soldiers who have been paid should fight first before drafting?
