You read the news report further it states the actual age that's called for PLKN is at the YDPAs discretion

The confusion stemmed when they defined 35 as the max year but they memang had no plans to call up 35 yo. On that day when first mooted also say probably 17 or SPM school leaver. The up to 35 was just a statement on the max age covered

Akta PLKN sebenarnya menyatakan bahawa pengisytiharan oleh Yang di-Pertuan Agong akan menentukan kumpulan umur mereka yang akan dikerahkan untuk menyertai latihan.

They dont have programs for old ppl also makes no sense to bring in a few 30 year olds and put train them separately
