Paid the RM9 pre-order before the price announced, now in a dilemma whether to buy or not.

What’s holding you back? I thought it was kinda impressive for 1499 so I preordered
(Today Shopee got 20,000 coins cashback equivalent to RM200 some more, hehehe)

The processor, and Honor 90 can get around 15xx now, maybe cheaper during 11.11

Bro, this phone's SoC is made by Samsung and it takes one and half hours to charge. Hope you are thinking through...

Anyways, yeah, I’m buying to test the SD 6 Gen 1 chip, - which I read is more efficient than the 7 Gen 1. Also, the 5800mAh battery sounds interesting. I’m not after performance so I’m ok with the midrange chipset. If I recall correctly, the last Honor phone I used was the 5x, hahaha - so it’s probably the time to try them again, haha.. In any case, I suppose I can sell off the Honor Choice earbuds and band and get my actual cost down to about RM1k or so, so it’s not all that bad even if I have to sell it off at a loss if I hate it, hahaha…

I’m still skeptical about all Chinese phones - especially on the software experience and user interface, which is why I’m curious to try for myself, haha. Anyway, I suspect I won’t be hanging on to this phone for too long, but let’s see

It’s rare to see a phone with over 5000mAh capacity battery in this price range actually, haha.. most of the larger capacity batteries are in lower, entry level phones these days… my last mid-range phone with crazy battery capacity was the Samsung M51 - 7000mAh battery!

They are over-selling the ruggedness, yes. Haha… but the battery life is something I will appreciate.

For all intents and purposes, the SD7 Gen 1 is a far superior chip so if performance is your priority, you should probably go with the F5. I think as far as performance to price value is concerned, it’s hard to beat the F5 (I think with all the discounts and what not can get it for 1.1k or below come 11/11). Unfortunately for me, the MIUI is a love it or hate it affair, and I hate it, hahaha… so I’ve stopped considering Xiaomi phones

Anyways, yeah, I do have some reservations still about the Honor - especially coz I dislike curved screens - I’ve seen them shatter easily when dropped! But because it’s a preorder with screen crack warranty, I’m gonna use it naked and test their claims of it being the most durable ever phone, hahaha…

I saw a few test drop review. Wow. They are insane. No screen protector needed. No casing needed. Truly rugged phone. Come with 365 days crack warranty for front and back side. It's insane. I do hope other phone will follow the same. The era of casing and screen protectors will soon end.

I preordered just to experience using a phone without a case and not have to worry about paying repairs for a broken screen.

Despite that, still worried about scratches and dings on the sides though.
