We want to invite you from Malaysia to attend Gigabyte Overclocking Competition in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event will be held at 17th November 2007. If you guys wants to join in please inform me via PM or email at benny@ne.co.id

Gigabyte Overclocking Championship Rules

Standard Hardware Configuration:

1. Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
2. Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6
3. Gigabyte 8600GTS
4. 2 x 1GB DDR2 Kingston HyperX PC8500
5. Gigabyte ODIN Pro 800 watt / Odin GT 550 Watt
6. LCD Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse

Weapons:

* All cooling allowed, except LN2. Air, Water and Dry Ice (we provide 10kgs of Dry Ice for each team). Cooling device provide by participants.
* Modding - No Soldering, else anything goes...
* HDD provided and pre-installed and configured with Windows XP Professional XP2, all the driver (use the latest forceware official driver
and latest driver for MB), utility like RivaTuner, ATI Tool, Memset (newest version), Easy Tune, Clockgen and SetFSB. No outside software
allowed, so no thumb drives etc
* Participant not allowed to use their own hardware, even if the hardware is the same model.


Run Down


* 11 pm: Opening Ceremony and introducing the participants by MC
* 11.30 pm : Participants pick up the hardwares, and prepare for setup (checking the hardware if working properly or not)
* 12.00 pm : Lunch Time
* 1.00 pm : Continue to prepare for setup and testing.
* 2.00 pm : The rules announced by Marshall
* 2.05 pm : Competition Begins !
* 2.05 - 2.45 pm : 3DMARK 2001
* 2.50 - 3.20 pm : Super PI 1.5 XS Mod 8M
* 3.25 - 3.40 pm : Everest Memory Bandwidth
* 3.45 - 4.25 pm : PCMark 2005
* 4.30 - 5.00 pm : Aquamark 3
* 5.05 - 5.45pm : 3DMARK 2006
* 5.45 - 6.30 pm : Bring back all the hardware and prepare for closing ceremony
* 6.30 - 7.00 pm : Closing Ceremony

Benchmarks (6 categories):

* Super-pi 1.5 XS Mod 8M
* 3D Mark 01 - Default Resolution/settings of 3D Mark
* 3D Mark 06 - Default Resolution/settings of 3D Mark
* PC Mark 05 - Default settings of PC Mark
* Everest Memory Benchmark (Read)
* Aquamark3

Rules:

* Participants can update the result continuously as long as the time not end for each benchmark.
* Benchmark score submitted after the time end, will not counted.
* Points allocated for each benchmark First - 8pts, Second - 5pts, Third - 3pts
* Raise your hand to submit a score and Marshall will verify and take down the score.
* There is no need to finish all categories. Highest total points at end of time wins.
* Marshall allowed to verify the score by running the benchmark again.

whats the prize
and whats the hardware that is being benched??

how bout transportation there, is it by our self or got sponsor

for now, we only can tell we provide 2 days hotel and 100 USD for accomodation for each participants from overseas.

hrmm.... coolice and sup3rfly representing Team Lowyat.NET? Initially we wish we could use that name, but benny, i guess KOC still stand among us as Team Lowyat.NET is not formed yet. lol. and we dare not be be Team Lowyat.NET without any approval or authorization. just like the other time in Singapore Competition, Team KOC.

Team KOC is different from other teams. None of us are admin of Lowyat.NET. Just that we lurk around here from the beginning until this Team was formed. We go to singapore competition without any Lowyat.NET ppl really knowing it. lol. Only if they keep track with the invitation thread by floppy.

PS: Team mates do correct me if i'm wrong here.

hey guys,back from jakarta few days ago already,sorry for delaying the report

here comes the winners
1st - Indo - Thailand 40pts
2nd - Indonesia 31pts
3rd - Vietnam 12pts

Australia and South Korea get same score 5pts and India got 3pts respectively
China - Singapore and Malaysia makan telur

Highest in each benchmark will get 8pts,following by 5pts and then 3pts

we reach the venue around 10am something,the competition is inside convention center and there are having some event like pcfair in malaysia
ok,start preparing and doing the insulation until 12pm
the quad we got not so good,only 460-470fsb under dryice
something goes weird when im testing the ram,i was able to do DDR1280 cl5 can finish test but b4 showing the score it just BSOD even i lower the speed,same thing happen, cant even do DDR1100 cl4,hyperx d9gkx realy tat bad?

nightmare just started,when benny announce 3 mins more to start..our setup just died
it just cant boot,cant find any burn mark on the mobo,remove insulation,blow with hair dryer,redo again insulation,same thing
end up submit no score at all..zzz

thailand hdd corrupted and one of indonesia team mobo died,so they combine become a single team but still manage to get first place,very good job
they broke 8600gts aq3 wr as well

nightraven's mobo died half way of the testing as well but luckily can join team china,,,we are alone
