Been trying my best to get the most from my cheap AC Freezer 64 Pro to cool my AMD am2 X2..
This is the reason I mod this heatsink.

After some testing with a couple of fan(stick with industrial double side tape)
I conclude that this heatsink need more cfm than the original fan which is around 40cfm.
Tested Zalman 50+ cfm, drop in temp of around 4-5c......but when use with Delta 80cfm fan.
No further temp drop achieved.So my choice is the Zalman.Quiet and good cfm

I didnt document the whole process but the end result is like below picture.
Note that at the side of the heatsink,Ive block it with cellophine.
This to direct the air flow straight to the exhaust fan in my casing.

Any flame/kutuk/idea are welcomed by me to improve it..

All this done in fully enclosed Gigabyte Triton casing with 2x 12' fan

well..yeah.sorry to dissapoint you bro...
but from experience in using this heatsink.
overclock to 2.7g will register 55-60c full load.

any closer pic on how you mount the fan ?

changing to powerful fan??

but to explain it...Just use a long screw and make ur way thru the fin..
Then tight it with the nut as in the picture..

TS, nice idea but mind showing what you really done that may void the warranty?

well,have to force the screw in thru the blade..
some scratch will be visible...and if wanna sen d for warranty..company might ask why and can denied warranty...

this is a simple stuff..not some extreme mod like ur phase cooling which is cool!

u can use a hook to hold the fan as it wont damage it...

fair enough this is a mod.
but i dont see clear pictures

u can also use a strong cable tie....therefore no scratch...full warranty assured.

I did tried that...
There is no way to use zip tie.....
but i guess someone else might be able ti try use zip ties..
thats an idea though..

Here are some ideas:

1. Build a proper wind funnel, using a cardboard or something, like a tunnel enclosing the side of the HSF. So u get proper air flow.

2. Add a second higher CFM/pressure fan to the rear of the HSF , like a wind tunnel

3. If the base of the hsf is detachable, smear some thermal paste between the heatpipes and the base.

1)My next plan shud be this one...currently i block the side of heatsink to point the air flow...maybe not enuff.

2)Already add a higher cfm to rear exhaust.This some how create some sort like vacuum.... cant feel the air from heatsink due to sucking action from higher rear exhaust.


3)Sadly unable to detach the hsf base.But i guess shud be ok since it is soldered together...

Artic is nice..tis product get many awards before..and have 6 years warranty!!haha!!

if i fix with this fan will it be better? or cannot fit?

U cant fit a 120mm to arctic...Its using 92mm fan only..

i think i saw mod on fan oso, why not u just mod ur fan, kasi speed mantap sket...

can volt mod also ma...haha...make full time 12v..
