The undercover story was filmed solely for Malaysian market as our censorship board don’t allow gangsters to win in movies but from second movie onwards, don’t know why our censorship board let the movies go through without alternative storyline.

China censorship board and guidelines actually copied Malaysian censorship board as a lot of things was not allowed by our censorship board last time. In the 80’s all the gunfights in movies like Better Tomorrow was heavily censored. Take out gun and the next scene everyone dead without a shot. LOL!

nuff said, the best goes to 古惑仔之隻手遮天

this one is only special version for MY and SG market only. The ending shows that Chan Ho Nam is a police undercover

The crazed Crow does not keep his word and kills Smartie in cold blood in front of Ho Nam. Just as Crow is about to finish him, Chicken bursts in and reaches a stalemate with Crow to ensure Ho Nam's safety.




The saddened Ho Nam carries Smartie's body out with him and gives her a proper funeral.


Now fueled solely on vengeance, Ho Nam decides to march into Tung Sing territory and kill Crow at Camel's funeral haphazardly.




Ho Nam's friends and the rest of Hung Hing manage to capture and threaten Tung Sing member "Tiger" (Ng Chi Hung), who tells all of Crow's madness in killing both their societies' leaders.



Crow is left nowhere to run from his enemies, and in the midst of a Hung Hing/Tung Sing brawl, he is killed in the funeral pyre.


With Crow dead, Tung Sing is left in disarray, and Hung Hing re-establishes control in its territories.

Crow has to be the best villain in the series.

He was so good that they had to bring him back in 4th movie as another tung sing firebrand Yiu Yeung, a master manipulator with a keen interest in classical music and fine wine ( cringe)


Nothing beats Crow though. He was the anti thesis to the chan Ho Nam Character.

Not sure about him being a gangster, but he worked as a male model before.

did not realize 3 films was rlease in 1 year

if i remmber correctly, the first film in Malysia, Chan Ho Nam is undercover cops but i NOT SURE wat he undercover

for me, the spin-off movie "Goodbye Mr Cool (2001)" in it's own way, is a good closure story to Ho Nam's life (using the name Dragon as substitute)

some ppl also dubbed the movie as "Young & Dangerous 8"

A sad and unexpected ending and good inside plot made this movie excellent. A must-see for Ekin fans.

Chan Ho Nam was undercover in Malaysia,Singapore and Brunei version ,and Nicholas version was not show in Malaysia cinema.

The Laughing Gor TVB version was based on the Chan Ho Nam TV version .
