Frontlines: Fuel of War, a battlefield style online multiplayer shooter made by some of the crew who worked on Battlefield 2, will be getting an Xbox 360 demo this December. No news were given regarding a PC and PS3 demo, but expect the game to be simultaneously released on all three systems in January 2008. Powered by the Unreal Engine 3, the PC version will support up to 64 players, while the Xbox 360 and PS3 will have up to 32 players online.

tried the 360 demo yesterday

first impression: another fps. dislike the story premise, and all the cheesy bits. the control a bit 'sticky'. vehicle control (a tank in the demo) felt awkward

yeah...tried the demo as well....the good thing is you can play several role. and i am sux at FPS. any remedy?

I must say very poor controls both FPS and tank. Not even close to COD4. Not impressed at all. Don't think the full version will get any decent review with the awkward controls.

I am totally agreeing with you. Finished the DEMO and man!!! that was a relieve. Finished it for the sake of finishing. The crosshair control is very loose. Its not accurate. The tank control is frustrating. The sound effect is boring. The graphic is hmm i've seen better (but dont mind much about the graphic thouh) The combat system is very lame .. just another FPS without direction game hehehe. Final verdict from the DEMO the game is not solid. The storyline is some how not interesting at all. I do not think that there will be a better version after it release. This game is definitely on my throw box list.

I love playing with the mini chopper and C4-racing-cart but the control....damn.

There are some tutorial video available on xblive marketplace, i recommend everyone to watch it first before jumping on the game server. Makes the game more enjoyable.

but hidin in barred area make snipin so much better...hardly any damage from tanks but snipin still feels weird...

Yesterday playing then saw Rayrossi on the opposite team...didn't notice it earlier

No wonder you complain about missles from chopper
When i am playing as sniper, i usually climb to the top of those smoke pipe (or whatever you call it)

I think it took me more than 1 mins just to reach the top....i am not joking! Very syiok when sniping... but not so syiok when i ran out of bullet, i need to climb all the way down again. Jump = die, there aren't any parachute option either!!

Played 1 or 2 round just now . The graphics reminds me of COD4 , but its quite bland and isn't decent at some place . The damage feedback is terrible , or issit because of lag ? The game is totally unplayable under lag , the bullet will be registered at the location 1 second after that .

Guess I need to find a game with decent connection and learn more about it .

The game is out everywhere i think. If you dig Battlefield series but got turn off by its deep learning curve, then Frontlines(R) : Fuel of War is your answer!

No idea man, play-asia stated the asia version is region free but don't know about the ntsc/pal version.

er...my copy is still with mr postmen I only tried the demo & loving it so far especially its variety of weapon, vehicles & skill.
Just think of it as a bigger scale version of COD4.
In cod4 you kill 3 person you get drone, 5 airstrike, 7 chopper but it's one shot only. In frontline it's the same but the skill is permanent, you pick your "class" & your "role" then you kill people until you level up from 1-3. If say you pick "Air Support" you get Precision Airstrike (lvl.1) --> Carpet Bombing (lvl.2) --> Gunship Airstrike (lvl.3).

You better tried the demo for yourself & see whether battlefield-style gameplay suits you. The game won't be fun though if you haven't learn the basic (just as any other battlefield series but Frontlines is easier) or you're with bunch of teammates wandering around planting EMP Rod as if they are planting mushroom for a greener earth.

Worst come to worst, hide and play with your remote control...sending toy army into battlefield.


Most important got local players, then can form a team ingame with a leader to coordinate your teamwork. (other players can spawn nearby the Commander instead of base)

The singleplayer? Just something to learn your basic only, the focus will always be the multiplayer.

i think if there are very little local players it won't be as fun.

There is a demo up on XBlive, why not you try it and see? One thing though, you really need to have a group of friend to make this game fun. Teaming up together as a squad so you can coordinate with your team and voice chat is only available if you've form a squad with other players.

Sometimes the game can feel very epic, there is one time the fighter jet flew above me and the vrooooommmmmmmmm sound is freakin' awesome as i stare at the sky.

Does anyone else have this? Tried playing on-line, I'm guessing all the dedicated KAOS servers are all in the US, the lag is terrible!

I think there is some Asia servers. I think 1 of them is in japan if i'm not mistaken.

I got the game but i'll skip the mp just doing it for the achivement. Haven got time to touch it yet

Looks like 3 other people in Malaysia bought this game!!! And no one's interested in MP.
Tried the single player and after playing COD4, don't think i can sit through the whole thing.

MP would be great if it didn't lag so much.

Sitting and drving the vehicle really suck. Man. I gave up playing after 2nd mission. Tanks kill me most of the time.
