Has anyone who own ExpertBook B9 model came across the bottom cover somehow dented and forms bubble after sometime?

Mine is 3 years plus and sort for realize recently that the bottom is uneven and formed bubble. Wonder if it was due to the heat? rclxub.gif

I thought it as first too but the dent is not only at where the battery is, it's the entire bottom cover surface. cry.gif

Nothing at all, very strange to see the bottom cover become dented for no reason. doh.gif

hmm, if no weird things going on, then maybe not a concern...

still, how's the system / CPU / GPU temperature when running?

plastic part for electronic commonly use PC/ABS and the melting point is above 200c,
deform caused by heat from the system is unlikely, unless the device was put constantly under heat stress aka from direct sun light, sun light can degrade plastic.

another possibility is the bottom already deformed since bought due to molding cosmetic defect.

My old asus laptop had this issue as well. Forgot which model was it but I guess it was heat that caused the bubbles and deformed bends. Wasn't really bothered about it coz it didn't really affect anything like performance issues or overheating. Worth a try to contact Asus service centers if you are concerned.

Sent to Asus Authorized Service Center and get the bottom case replaced. Now it's good as new, cost me RM 259 as it's out of warranty.

Do use cooling pad as laptops these days are too thin & compact for good cooling. Coolermaster U2/U3 has configurable fans to blow at the hottest spots.
Plus dont use on laps or carpet or lay on uneven places. Turn on battery saving features even if plugged in as it lower speeds (thus heat) and ramp if needed.

Most likely is Manufacturers are going for Biodegradable plastics.

Would recommend you avoid those Asus and Acers. rclxub.gif

I would advice do more thorough study on reviews b4 buying. Good start is Notebookcheck where they also consider thermal issue & heat spots.

Trusting a brand to continuously making quality stuff isnt such a good idea, but its up to you. Id still advice you to go thru reviews so that you understand its quirks and you are happy with it before you take the plunge.
