QUOTE(kiritoffx @ Jan 19 2024, 05:18 PM) I just tried to buy on steam using gxcard but failed So contacted CS, they keep argue to enable overseas purchases on app and i keep saying there is no such option, only online purchase option. I said u need to enable on system cos that what i did with maybank before to allow overseas purchase. So nothing in the end, the cs push the blame on me and steam. Steam purchase already problem, what more on others overseas platforms UPDATE [attachmentid=11489414] Reply from steam. So the GX card issue from SG hq? Sent this to GX so they can fix this asap Are you using a Malaysian or Singaporean Steam account? It seems Steam is the one blocking you here. QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 31 2024, 12:45 AM) The charges are on and off Sometime they charges near to XE but sometimes more than that but still lower than credit cards The cashback does help to recover back the high chargers though Just came back from europe GXBank debit card is a Mastercard, meaning it uses the Mastercard exchange rate, which offers the best exchange rate compared to Amex and Visa. XE shows the mid-market rate, which isn't the actual rate available through any payment method.

Currently, the TNG Visa card is actually the best option for overseas spending, offering a 2% cashback rate.

QUOTE(starry-starry @ Feb 6 2025, 03:16 PM) Sounds like I'd use GX card wherever card is accepted with the 1% CB, and use Wise for cash withdrawal but it limits to RM1k only as I don't want to pay any extra fee. The reason I am considering GX card is I don't have to exchange any cash here in MY. I was told that no fee is charged for cash withdrawal by Cathay United Bank, although I am not sure if it would be a hassle to look for one when I need cash. Probably can withdraw some/extra when I arrive the airport. Just that is there any limit of cash withdrawal amount by GX bank, like Wise if I don't wish to pay any fee? TNG Visa offers up to 2% cashback on overseas spending. https://www.touchngo.com.my/promotion/tng-e...k-campaign-2-0/

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Feb 7 2025, 04:32 PM) that is when u spend rm200 and above. else 0.5% or 1%. how often u spend rm200 + per transaction So gxbank or cc is way better Maybe GXBank is a better, for transactions below RM100, but not the credit cards, which often charge around 2% or more. To phrase it the same way you did, GXBank is only better than TnG Visa when the transaction amount is RM99.99 or less, overseas spending can easily exceed that.
